Draglist's Journal, 20 Aug 13

Better eating day today at 1584 calories but loads of carbs. Had a nice day in Kent, Ohio, visiting with my sister Judy. I even got a dozen draglist t-shirts designed and created while she and I were having lunch, window shopping, and having a few drinks. Nice. I am having the yearly reunion for my website group during a major race in Cordova, Illinois, this next weekend and it was going to be the first time in eight years I hadn't provided reunion t-shirts... too busy at home, but I got 'em done on the fly!

I also scored about two dozen pairs of pants from Judy's boyfriend Bill who has also been losing weight via my new-found calorie counting secret (not really a secret!) He has lost 60 lbs and my sister almost 50. I still have 'em both beat combined! LOL. But... he was much slimmer than me in the first place and we about the same height, so all those trousers that are too big for him now are perfect for me. I actually got into 36 waist jeans today. Awesome.

I left Judy and Bill's at 5pm so I could get to the Detroit airport to pick up Emily and Galen after their visit to see his folks in the mountains of Georgia. Made it right on time at 7:55! Texted Em to say I was there and to text me when she was off the plane... the response: Sorry, dad, forgot to tell you. We are on a later flight that's coming in at midnight! ARRGH! So I'm contemplating what to do with myself for four hours in Detroit and I get another text... the pilot just asked everyone to get off the plane. There are mechanical issues that need to be fixed. So I hang out in the cell phone lot for another hour and she updates me: They are putting us up in a hotel overnight and we are flying in the morning... So, I'm back at the hotel... about 50 miles south. That means in the morning, I get to join all the other rush hour Detroit drivers as we make our way out of Northwestern Ohio through Toledo first and then through Detroit... Oh well, Parenthood. bp
