I had a great time hiking and exploring the trails of Patterson Pass near Pony Springs, Nevada today! I hope you'll enjoy the photos I took.

Thanks, everybody! I'll take a picture of whatever creatures will pose for me, acomandr. That's a darkling beetle, and they're pretty cool. They're humongous!

Thank you for the pics! Beautiful out there. Gotta say I love the lizard creature. The beetle was neat. It was cool to look at in a pic yet I believe if it were live near me I would go or run the other way 😀.

That's a leopard lizard, Scouty. They are very skittish, and usually run away first. I've developed a trick of moving toward them very slowly, in order to get close enough to photograph them. I don't think they can see something very well of it's still or moving slowly. The darkling beetles are oblivious, and won't pay you any attention as it goes on its way. I'm glad you enjoyed the photos!
