Happy Friday FS Friends! Looks to be a beautiful weekend coming in for us in Cincinnati. A little grilling, a little golf, a lot of beer!! Ha.

But, on a heavier note, my best friend's mother passed away this week - Covid. He came over and we recalled high school, me spending all my time there, and how warm she was ... I miss her, she was my second mom ... but, I really feel for him, the way they had to say good bye over Zoom, the drive through visitation, and the limited amount of people at the burial. Really is a serious thing.

Anyway, WOD with weighted vest today:
2x10 Superset: pull ups+kb sumo squats (aiming high with the 10 reps)
2x10 push ups
15 med ball toe touches (v-ups)
10 kb high pulls
15 kb dead lifts
30 swiss ball circle planks
10 kb pistol squats
2x30 seconds kb suitcase walk
15 med ball slams
2x10 Superset: dips+inverted rows
50 jumping jacks

Virtual high school graduation for my son on Sunday ... Additionally, he received an academic award last night in creative writing via the school's YouTube channel ... and his teacher just gave the loveliest speech for him - sees him, allows him to be his true self, and appreciates him... made us cry.

Hope you are all safe and with the ones you love. Cheers!

Thanks JC ... i have to say, you are really always there on FS for everyone. Always appreciate your support. And yes it is sad for them - watched a farewell video from all the teachers and it moved me, and I am not one to look back on HS years with any fondness or longing. Anyway - happy friday to you! enjoy your weekend and family as well!

I'm sorry for the loss of your friends mother. You've got a great weekend coming up. What're you going to grill? Congrats on your sons graduation! That is most wonderful that the teacher recognized what was in your son.

☺️😌 I like people 🤗 and love the friends I made♥️ High school was not my jam lol. It was more of a hang out with friends thing minus English class and chorus and HS Biology. I liked those classes. Thank you friend 💜💚☀️

ah - no worries, JC. I hear you about HS. And Tatauu - thanks for your support too. Chicken will be on the grill - gotta eat healthy with all the beer :) I am just excited for the weather. And yes, for my son, it is important he was seen as I just figured when i was in school, teachers weren't interested in me as a person (i think i was wrong, though) - he has struggled with dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADD, loss of his best friend last year, short term memory limitations, so he always felt like he was a failure, or not as smart - and really, it was that he did not fit in the box, and able to take tests, etc. There's more to us than that ... and she saw it ... plus he's flourishing now. Anyway, always appreciate you two, JC & Tatauu!

So sorry about your friend's mom, that's really sad. But wonderful news about your son. I used to work at Neuhaus Education Center, an organization dedicated to teaching educators how to work with children with dyslexia and dysgraphia. Sounds like your son is well on his way to developing all the gifts with which he has been blessed.

oh @shir, so nice to see you and thank you for your thoughts. wow, so you know how these children can view themselves internally. it is tough on them - we got him help early - orton-gillingham and tutors - but the biggest obstacle is/was him overcoming his own bad self talk. he's on the way, though.
