br_e_co's Journal, 26 May 20

The Covid 5 is not coming off. I am really getting lazy about tracking. Holiday is over - time to get to business.

Anyway, it has been 2 years or so since we moved into our new house. While cleaning the garage this weekend I stumbled across some workout stuff that was still packed up from the move. One thing, a weighted vest, will now be added to my workout ... i think it holds 35ish pounds. This will be interesting.

Hope you all have a great, shortened, work week.

WOD:
2x10 Superset: pull ups+kb sumo squats
2x10 push ups
15 med ball toe touches (v-ups)
10 kb high pulls
15 kb dead lifts
30 swiss ball circle planks
10 kb pistol squats
2x30 seconds kb suitcase walk
15 med ball slams
2x10 Superset: dips+inverted rows
50 jumping jacks

...should be gassed by this point!

Take care all!

well that quickly became a joke ... could only squeeze out 2x5 pull ups and it was hard. also did not have kb's for my pistol squats .... and only 1 of the dips+row supersets .. and finally, only did 20 jumping jacks. phew.

Start out slow and be consistent, you can do this! 💪🏻 You’ll be able to do more every time you work out. Remember to record your progress and stay focused on your goals. Hope you have a lovely day.

thanks for the support, @salty! certainly good advice. i was unprepared for adding 35ish pounds to my own body weight when wearing the weighted vest. But, in the long run, I am grateful to have found it in storage and able to add to overall weights as part of workout. While our sports club is opening, i am not quite ready to be social with my workouts again ... this will have to do for another 2-4 weeks ... then I will venture to the club. Cheers!

Weight vest is really hard - good work just trying it out right now

hey JC and HCB - thanks for your support! Yeah, finding it again keeps me from ordering more kettle bells or dumb bells for the moment. And it is hard to handle these, HCB ... they impede movement and can throw your balance off if not careful. But it really cramps your pull ups! You guys are great ... always there for support for others. I am grateful.

Sounds like it was a really intense workout though! 35 extra lbs is a lot, so that’s really amazing. 💪🏻👏🏻

Awesome! Weighted vests are deceiving. We have one that's 12.5 pounds but feels heavier. Can't believe I was once walking around 118 pounds heavier than I am now. Furthermore, covid 5 is way better than the covid 15 (or more) as I've heard it called. 🏋️‍♀️👍🏼

so true, DP. And that is an amazing journey you're on ... 118 pounds heavier???! inspiring.

Thanks! Started on fs after losing 100 and gaining back 1/2. Finally the last year - around March 2019- I got serious. I'll never be obese again. Wasted 40 years of my life. Well - not wasted. I have a beautiful life and I'm beyond blessed. I only wish I could have experienced it at a normal weight.

Nothing to be proud of having eaten myself to 300 pounds. Glad I got it under control! Thank you though! ❤️

DP, that’s so incredible and inspirational. Makes my own struggle with these last 10-20 pregnancy lbs seem way too silly. Major respect to you, it couldn’t have been easy. 💖💖

Thanks. Sorry Br_E_Co...didn't mean to have this all on your post. Hope you don't mind. 😉

I have not met a single person in my life who hasn't experienced issues in one form or another. You got it under control and you're living your best life, that's what counts.

DP - love it! Don't mind a bit. No worries here. I love hearing the stories and everyone should ... it is the community of sharing that is important in this journey. :)
