🍇🧀Welcome to Motivational Monday! How do you feel about snacking? Do you snack? What do you consider a snack?

As a kid in the 60s-70s, snacking was taboo. Eating was 3 meals a day. Popcorn or candy with a soda was a weekend treat at the movies or Saturday night at home. Special events were sharing one of the 2 bags in the Old Dutch chip box. We were told "not to spoil our dinner". By the 80s, with After School tv specials, kids' snack ads appeared. Adults started snacking, too! Packaged "snacks" industry exploded like rice cakes & pretzels (no fat phase). The 5-6 mini meals per day emerged. Protein drinks & bars. Everyone had ideas on when & how to eat! We are full circle with OMAD options.

My first snacks were carrots or an apple. Today, I believe in more mini meal with protein & veg or fruit. Of course, I still love popcorn & chips! Just not as everyday menu items.

Wishing you a week with healthy snacks! 🍎🥕🍿

Comments
I have been trying to make veggie plates in the morning and chia puddings. it has been helping. I was a bad evening snacker. Bad habits I picked up from late night study sessions when I went back to school recently.
