Stupendous!!!

It is Saturday!!!

As promised ... I put my body on the scale this morning. I was thinking I felt like I weighed in my range. Guess what? I do!!! After an eating frenzy of a weekend I was pleased to see I weighed 182.6!!! Very nice. It is good to begin to know my body better. To be able to actually sense how much I may weigh. To not be so dependent on the scale to tell me whether or not I am on target. Please don't misunderstand, I still "need" and will faithfully utilize my scale as a tool. It is indeed a "friend" not a "foe." It is just good for me to begin to understand that I DO know me. I can TRUST myself ... at least more than I have been able to do most of my life in terms of my body. My body is my own. I am more connected to me than I have ever been and that feels GREAT!!

The blue sky is trying to poke out but everything is WET. So we are not cutting logs this morning. A little break and I've been playing games on the computer, drinking coffee, and goofing off!! I do need to get to my Pilates once I have this done. Then more goof off time!!! Oh I have many things I "should" do but I am not going to. I have Monday off with DH at work so I can work then!! LOL!!! Life is too short and nothing is crucial. There you have it!!

So today I am grateful for ...

1. a three day weekend!!

2. time out with my hubby ... again!!

3. the moose who decided NOT to run in front of my car last night on the way home from work!!

4. extra sleep

5. chatting with my mom

Have a marvelous day!! Remember to take moments to consider kindness towards yourself. Wonder about what that may mean in your life. Figure out what actions may be associated with being kind to yourself. Practice accepting yourself ... warts and all. For each of us ... we are who we are. That doesn't mean we can't change behaviors ... we can!!! But at the core ... I think we are much the same person who came into this world as newborn infants. So ... we can work with it or against it. Working with it is what I suggest. Trying to change who we are in our core ... well ... I really don't think that works. At least it hasn't for me. I have been pleasantly surprised though at what I have discovered really is at my core by practicing kindness and acceptance. Many of my thoughts about me were really not accurate ... just defenses I had been using most of my grown up years.

I'll continue on this journey ... and remember that the only thing predictable in this life is change. Take care my friends!!

I agree that it is very valuable to weigh yourself daily, or weekly. And I like how you said "friend". We have to remember that while it can also warn us if we're getting out of control, it can also reassure us that we are doing the right thing. I'm pleasantly surprised every time it says the desired range without any particular effort :). Especially after a vacation! Nice job. You had fun and definitely deserved it!

Good job with the weight. That is really great that you could maintain and still have some yummy treats last week. Glad you are taking a break today. Hope you and hubby enjoy the beautiful day.

Nice job on getting in your range--and knowing what that feels like. I'm trying to like that feeling more than what the scale says, because when I feel good the scale doesn't always agree with me. Hope you have a good, fun and productive day off today.
