More thoughts on “home schooling”. My dad had a sixth grade education and my mom graduated from high school. Education was very important to them. The idea that us kids would go to college was never talked about, it was a given.
One of the things they did for us was institute a “word of the day”. At dinner we would present a word we had selected from the dictionary— it’s meaning and how we would use it in a sentence. Then we would try to use those words and incorporate them in our interactions with people in our world. We liked doing it and we did it for years.

Keyten77– we lived parallel lives!

We did not have much money when I was little. My dad was an auto mechanic. I was a voracious reader and every BD or Christmas included a Nancy Drew book. Right now I am so grateful for Apple and Amazon books. I usually read two books a week and I am out of my stash of books (I normally take advantage of the library and their used book sales) so now am down to reading on my IPad. Not the same as holding a real book but at least a great alternative option..

Keyten77 a vaccine will probably come, but not for this wave of the epidemic. They can TREAT malaria, hepatitisC and the common cold, but no vaccines yet. There is a vaccine for Hep B, polio measles, mumps, etc. some viruses are more elusive than others. There is a vaccine for malaria but from what I understand it is not very effective. Right now the quickest thing that can happen is a disrupter that keeps the virus from replicating so rapidly. That may be the Zithromax/ chloroquine combo or some other cocktail or single entity pharmaceutical.
