Are you going on a bear hunt? Many in our community are putting teddy bears in windows for kids to count while on walks with their families. I think most of us have routines that are changed, diets that are requiring extra attention, workouts that are limited or altered. I think it would be so cool to, in a positive spirit, share what you or your family is doing to help others in this time. I just read what Katsolo is doing on Chris's post. Wow! Twiga is busy making masks. So, without debate or political comment during this tragic time for many, can you share what you are doing or what you have heard can be done to help others? We have medical professionals here on FS. Thank you! A couple days ago a little cupboard was set up in our neighborhood for people to share canned goods... people drop off and pick up as needed. Just a little thing, but it shows love for those hurting financially. We also have a network of people to call, who free of charge, will go grocery shopping for those most at risk.

I like that too. I bet kids will remember and tell their kids and grandkids someday.

I’ve called all my neighbors that I know who are elderly and/or live alone. Many of them are widowed and are like ‘grandmas’ to our kids. Since all our family lives so far away, they have all been so precious to us. Now it’s been a time for me to show them Christian love and offer help, whatever they need. For most, it’s just a phone call, a chat, a prayer. If there’s one thing I’ve focused on during this, is how important that human interaction is, of love and kindness...can’t be by way of a hug now or a squeeze, but it’s a smile, a soft voice to say, I’m here if you need anything. ❤️😊🙏 Love and kindness is what will be remembered, not how many rolls of TP we stocked or how many cans of beans... 😑

We live in the middle of the country and way away from the road so the egg hunt and bear hunt won’t work for us. All we’ve done is supply eggs and Clorox wipes for our in-laws and SIL who is a PA. Went shopping for the in-laws who are over 65 a couple times. I’m hoping to check on our every neighbors a few miles down the road this weekend if I can catch them home. They may just not be answering the door right now.

Nice.. The masks are a nice gesture. Here in the KC metro the homemade ones are not allowed for health care professionals as they are not compliant. I guess they would some what helpful for the general public.

My community is doing the bears in the window, too. I don't have bears so I have a purple hippopotamus in one and a cow in the other. 🤣 There is an article on Vox (I did a web search for mutual aid groups) called 'Volunteers form coronavirus mutual aid groups to help isolated people'. You can find your state in what the article calls a "monster list" and see what's around you and how you can help. It's very humbling to see how people are coming together to help entire communities.

Our littles did the bear hunt in our area, too. It’s awesome how many people participated. Love seeing so many families out and playing with their kids and how many people are coming together. 💞
