Super hungry this morning so had to make 3 eggs and a piece of buttered toast. Our hens started laying a month early (baby hens) so the eggs are probably medium sized. Usually they start laying small eggs but these girls started off bigger! Getting 3-8 a day and they should not be old enough to lay for another 2-3 weeks!

Them little hens are putting in some hard work, mine are laying now also. Seems a little early this year for everyones hens. Maybe the weather patterns?

Probably. What gets me is ours are barely 5 months old and they shouldn’t lay until 6-8 months old for their breed. We got them as day old chicks so we are sure on their age. Just glad to finally have some good eggs! Store eggs just aren’t the same.

Mine are about the same age, 5 months and one week. But could be a different breed than yours. Nothing like fresh eggs!

Mine is Rhode Island Whites and Red so they are at the age. Never really considered it much until now. They normally lay at around 18-20 weeks. Your hens are super early!

I think Buff Orpingtons lay at around 24-26 weeks?

We were told 26 weeks and online says 6-8 months. Yes they are early lol.
