Danana's Journal, 27 Oct 19

Big time success! I was able to attend multiple social occasions this week, enjoy eating, and still record a loss. Logging and staying balanced is really working for me. I am letting go of the pressure of weight loss deadlines and expectations of a certain weight and focusing on averaging 1500 calories per week. I only recently discovered the report feature that allows me to adjust through the week so I can balance things out as I go. My other focus is to continue making the majority of what I eat fruits and vegetables. I like variety and I can eat a lot of different fruits and veggies without amassing a high amount of calories.It helps that I like them! Of course, I've known this for years, but I think getting out of the diet mentality and just focusing on portion control and being truthful about how much I am eating is the key to success for me. I'm not overly focused on what I can and cannot eat, but asking, "Am I really hungry?" and only eating when the answer is yes. Last night I really wanted to snack, but I wasn't actually hungry so I fought off the craving. Thanks to everyone who is cheering me on and who models realistic eating. I don't think I could do it without you!

Omg Danana everything you are saying is making total sense to me. Say no to dead lines, say no to temporary diets (temporary results.) it’s a lifestyle change, learn to eat better for the rest of your life. Stop the mindless snacking and only eat if hungry . Enjoy your special days and events and still be mindful

Thanks, Groatmeal! I only wish I had come to this realization sooner in life, but at least I'm young enough that I can still make a difference for the second half of my life!

Great that you are doing well on your plan. I'm rather trying the same thing but not sure how it will be going back to work this week. We do not get to choose our schedules for breaks etc and I know it's overtime on Monday for me.
