Kenna Morton's Journal, 01 Oct 19

I had to drive to San Diego yesterday morning and stopped for an early lunch before I reached my destination. I ordered a breakfast; an omelet with asparagus, spinach and bacon, toast and hash browns. A little expensive but didn’t think much about it. When the waitress brought it I was in shock at how monstrous the omelette was plus 4 pieces of toast and a huge amount of hash browns. It had to have been a 4 egg thing. I ate less than half. When the waitress came with the bill I commented about the portion size. She said people think nothing of eating this amount of food, even kids— normal and expected. I would certainly eat there again because the food was delicious but only if someone were with me to split it. Made me want to throw up.

I rarely, rarely get to go out, so I tend to always overeat of I ever do. The portions are often ridiculously large even for me. Like you mentioned, sharing is such a better plan for sure!

I generally take home half of restaurant meals and then have two days worth of food for one trip out.
