Fritzy 22's Journal, 21 Sep 19

Today will be a challenge. I'm going with my sister to watch her granddaughter, my great niece play soccer. Something to do on a Saturday. It's about 60 miles away and my favorite Chinese restaurant is on the drive home. We've been talking about getting food to bring home for about a week. But I have decided I really don't want to do it. I've lost weight so many times that I know exactly how my body works. If I get the Chinese food the scale will show at least a 3 pound gain tomorrow. And while I know it will be a temporary gain, it sets back my journey by about a week. When I allow myself a treat like that it takes 3-5 days to get back to where I was before I indulged and then another 2 or 3 or 4 days to start showing a loss. I just went through that when I went on vacation for 5 days 2 weeks ago. I think I can allow myself to go off plan once in awhile, but no more than once a month. If I stay on plan I know I will lose around 7 or 8 pounds a month, otherwise I'm lucky to lose 3 or 4 pounds in a month. I know it doesn't sound like much but over 5 or 6 months it means losing 20 pounds instead of 35. I tend to over analyze things and also know there's a very good chance I'll be coming home around noon today with Chinese take out that isn't good the next day!

Fingers crossed for a win at soccer! That beautiful new stove is crying out....Stir Fry! Grab some veg and protein and you and Sis can party after the game.

Enjoy your day😊💕 it’s good to know how our bodies react to foods and medicine. I try to stick to shrimp and broccoli or shrimp and garlic sauce with light rice or no rice, only because the MSG is going to make me swell. I like a good seaweed soup and egg drop soup too😋

I know what you mean!! Once a month (I usually have 2 very high calorie days actually) is very different than 3 or 4. That's why I love the calorie tracker to see what my daily average is. It's easy to see how it directly relates to my loss.

I hope you have a delightful day with family! Whatever you decide about the food, enjoy your special day! 😁 ❤️

I'm home. No Chinese food! My little niece's team lost by one goal but I enjoyed watching. Her dad was one of the coaches and she was one of the best players (she's 7). She came home on the drive with us to spend the night at her grandma's house and didn't want Chinese food. So we stopped at Jimboy's for tacos. I skipped the tacos and went shopping for 15 minutes while my sister and KyKy ate their tacos. Home now and will have a salad. I bought 2 pre made salads at the grocery store the other day. I know I have a nice stove - but still don't like to cook! Feel good about not caving in at Jimboy's which is my favorite place to get tacos.

Good self-control!!! 😁 And you know what, I actually hate to cook. How can I even admit that with all these wonderful, fantastic cooks here "listening in!!" Well, it is the God honest truth! I don't care how fancy a kitchen might be, I'd love to just avoid it all. Maybe that is because I am burned out cooking on a slim budget for a million years for a passle of people. I like the results of good, home-cooked food... I'd just rather somone else did it!! 😁 Happy for you it was a nice successful day!! 😁

Thanks for the support everyone! Right now I seem to be able to practice self control. That's not always the case, even though I know what I need to do, sometimes it's just too hard and I will give in to cravings. I think since I set a goal for 10 weeks I am making it easier on myself. I'm not saying I will never go to my favorite Chinese restaurant and indulge or go to Jimboy's for my favorite taco (Jimboy's is a pretty popular fast food chain in the Sacramento to Tahoe area with parmesan cheese on their taco shells!). But right now I can resist so I will take advantage of my current commitment. Wish I liked to cook and with a nice new stove and oven I may learn to like it better than I do now. Love all the comments from people who would like to cook at my house! Wish you were close enough. Melissa - I agree with your comments about the results of good home cooked food and just wanting someone else to do it. I feel the same way about house work. I like my house to be clean but I hate cleaning it.
