I hear excuses daily. It’s time to take ownership. If you did something because you wanted to then say so. I had a snickers last night cause I wanted to. If it’s because you had a trigger, a bad moment or whatever then fine. BUT work through those. They can’t be crutches forever. Get help if you need to.

Some people will be offended. Some will need to hear this as I needed to hear it. If offended scroll on by. If not then know that you are strong enough to work through eating issues!

I’d begin to think I had an ED but discovered I just really love food and always have. I don’t have to have all I want in one sitting. I can enjoy looking forward to an evening snickers as some enjoy a bowl of ice cream or fruit. I even had watermelon the other day- guilt free. All because I’ve worked things like that into my diet. You can too!

So many new people are following me and I’m hoping to reach at least one of you. Maybe you’ll realize as I did that this process can be enjoyable if you work through some issues, some triggers and some things you’ve used as a crutch. When you want to dive into emotional eating grab some water and sit down with a task that keeps either your mind or hands or both busy until it passes. Work those treats and favorite foods in your diet! Of course you can’t have them daily at first usually but you can plan a small 100 kcal treat daily or a 500 kcal treat weekly or even pizza for dinner monthly.

Feel free to message me if you are picky like me and want suggestions as to low cal snacks (with carbs), how do make a calorie budget and/or how exactly I fit in my treats and you want to as well! Good luck everyone. You can do this!

Right you are. Fit it in guilt free is the very thing we should all strive for. strive, don't deny is my mantra. Since I like OMAD, delay, don't deny is the other one. LOL

Well said. No argument here. Coming here means you want to change. You change by recognizing the mistakes that trip you up, and changing them. Yep, total agreement.

Wow! Glad that is working for you!

You put that very well. No offense taken by me. I am one of your new followers and love the advice.

that's my mindset too. I think the one thing that everyone who changes has in common is a strong belief that people *can* change.

I’m glad no offense was taken. Sometimes I don’t phrase things very tactfully :/. Those who know me get what I mean though. I wouldn’t hurt anyone for anything unless they mess with my kiddos ;). Yes everyone CAN change if they want to badly enough. Easier for some than others. Always possible though! Welcome new followers! I’m full of advice lol. Take it or leave it but be aware I’m not into low carb so my advice will lean toward CICO. Hubby’s going Keto now 😳😳😳. You can imagine the fun in our house right now haha. I’ll support his decision but I’m not learning a new way of cooking and al new recipes the same day he decided to switch. Keto for weight loss then back to CICO for muscle growth just hope he doesn’t sacrifice muscle! I’d welcome any advice on Keto and retaining ALL muscle plus super fast/easy meals. So far we have toms, avocados, zucchini and chicken quarters. Oh and spam. He’s thrilled over spam the most haha.

Chris, it was tame for my mood I guess. I’d just heard someone in my house whine about things and that triggered the ‘take ownership and change’ attitude. Lol. The dr will help that ed when he finds the erection I think. (Eating disorder silly but obviously I didn’t after much googling. I was just not wanting to take ownership of my weight gain and wanting to eat 2500-3000 kcal a day :/)

Thanks Kenna! You have as well! Are you short by chance? Most people I see under 120 tend to be 5’2 or less. (My great aunts are 4’9 and 4’10).

I looked up a recipe called ‘egg roll in a bowl’ that said about crack slaw. Hubby would like that one. He had 36g carbs today so far with 6g being fiber. Down from like 200g. We have a bet to see if he can go to the gym lifting weights and eat keto style and lose 30# in a month. Damn it. Forgot to see what I get when/if he doesn’t do it. (He dropped 40 in a month on 800 kcal so I’m guessing more like 15 on 2400 kcal).

Why wait, grab a Snickers. Only 250 calories. Just nibble it. Eat it slowly with a glass of water. 😉

When you are applying to get the WLS where I am...you have to get a psych eval in order to be approved. I have been seeing a therapist now for about 8-9 months and I have to say...working through my issues has been really hard but it's getting easier and easier to eat better because I'm not running to the fridge every time I get bored, sad, mad, glad, etc...

Katie, great job!! Me too Kenna! I’m one of the tallest blood females on my side lol.

D, it’s sitting beside me waiting until after I finish the chewy sprees. Chris, he knows he still has to count ;). He’s actually been doing really well on counting accurately!! Logs all his snacks and things. Started drinking a ton of plain iced tea and water. When I separated out lettuce leaves for him for burgers he said ‘uhh thanks but I’ll eat it with a fork. Much easier.’ Lol. That, cutting up veggies (toms, avocado etc) plus buying whatever he put on the list was going to be the extent of my Keto prep and help.

Show him pics of Chris when he tried to gain muscle on keto vs. when he added Fruity Pebbles to his cottage cheese.

Idk, hopefully he has a good pre-workout, idk how people lift heavy without carbs. Goodbye precious gains. I know, I'm being dramatic, I've just seen many posts about not having the energy for lifting when on keto, even from people who are crazy for keto.

He'll be fine. Hell, I remember doing a low protein junk food diet for 10 months and ending up looking just fine. Of course, I think I was eating 500 grams of carbs. I lost muscle but losing so much fat while retaining most of it produced great results. Wait, doesn't your protein also have to be kind of low for ketosis?

Hear that Chris, send me or hubby pictures of your 132# self ;). Actually... I did show him the 132-135 pic. He asked awhile back if Chris was the guy who lost weight to 130’s then gained muscle back. He’s also seen your back D! I avoid showing him women’s pics because, well ya know, because I’m his wife lol. Yes D I’m worried about that. However he’s desperate to get to his goal of 220. That’s just below his high school weight when he had the best muscle and strength. 🤷‍♀️ I’m betting Keto lasts a week. Gym days are MWF so he has two days until the next one. Carbs were still in his system today I think. I think when he starts noticing a muscle loss he will quit Keto even if he sticks with it through the crappy workouts. He LOVES the workout high lol. He loves his biceps more 😉.
