Damn, I am pissed! Guess who fell into a pile of wood in our backyard yesterday and may have broken her large toe?! I can’t believe I fell! And what is the worst is that now I can’t walk for a week or two. Then if it’s not better I have to see an orthopedic doctor. My husband ended up taking me to the urgent care by our house, and the x-rays didn’t show anything broken—just a bad bruise/contusion. It’s my right foot again – the one I broke back in October. After I broke my foot in October of last year, I gained 20 pounds within three months because I couldn’t be active and I was drowning my sorrows in carbs and sugar. So last night what did I do? I finished up a bag of cheddar cheese popcorn and and entire bag of mini butter cookies from Walgreens! And we went through Lion‘s Choice (roast beef sandwiches) for dinner instead of eating something healthy at home. So that was an easy two thousand calories right there 🤬. Urgent care gave me a post-operative boot to wear, and I have to keep my foot elevated. Taking ibuprofen in addition to my regular back medicine. The neuropathy in my right foot is also contributing to the pain because it’s my big toe that’s most affected. Blah, blah, blah—first world problems, right? It could’ve been a lot worse and I should stop complaining. I only jarred my back some, so that’s good. And just some minor scrapes and bruising. And I guess best of all, nobody saw me, LOL! I’ll get through this, especially that now I have FS and can read through the posts for support. Thanks for listening, and nothing says I can’t use our free weights at home to at least do something while my toe heals. Who knew a bruised toe could hurt so much and cause so many problems. 😬😬😬

Oh my. Yes first world problems. My 17 year old son always uses that term when any one of us at home complain. At least, it is just a toe and not your leg and recovery will be quicker! Hang in there!!!

The Lever company says we have 2,000 body parts. Most of them, we don't even notice or be thankful for until something bad happens to them! Thanking God for my toes tonight!!!

Get some good old Epsom Salts. soak the foot a couple of times a day and then keep it elevated.

Here is where you have to really hunker down and pay close attention to your diet and that probably means cutting your calories back to compensate for the inability to do much physical activity. And definitely pull out any hand weights you have and or follow some of the exercise programs on PBS that shows exercises that people with disabilities might be able to do. So now your goal is not to loose weight the next few weeks but to maintain the loss you have achieved. You can do it.

Hurts like hell but if you don’t need surgery buddy taping is the best that can be done. Just stubbing a toe in the middle of the night or whenever is enough to make the most unsavory of words just spew as word vomit 🤦🏻‍♀️😩 take care and rest up.

Thank you VERY much, you guys. You’re the best (except for Jfdlreyes who’s obviously not real!)! It’s feeling better today; isn’t throbbing anymore which was the worst part. Thanks for the prayers, good wishes, and suggestions. I really like the idea of using this time to maintain and use the free weights we have here at home. I really haven’t given any thought to maintaining at all b/c it’s been so long since I was at a healthy weight. I’ll take any/all suggestions for maintaining that you have! Meanwhile, I messed around with the FS website yesterday. JC, I took your advice and changed my photo—I’m not a “clementine” any more! And I even typed out my “bio”, only to have an error message pop up at the end that it could only be 2,000 words! Needless to say, I have to re-write it 😬. Dawnie, it’s good to hear from you. I’ve been praying for you, your sisters, and your sweet mama every day. And I pray for you, too, Debbie and JC. Actually, I thank God for all you guys (and others on here) every day, and I try to keep track of what’s going on in all your lives. And I really would love to meet you all and have a ginormous potluck with all the fantastic foods you all make! Thanks, again, for the support, and for helping me have the courage and strength to not give up. 🥰😊💪🏻🙏🏻

Jfdlreyes—- regarding the product you mentioned. Just keep in mind the old saying—- if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn’t. You can’t escape hard work and commitment.
