Continuing on. —— the ongoing studies currently in progress are related to the efficacy of standard weight loss strategies, diet, and exercise, pharmacologica and surgical strategies, behavior, lifestyle and psychosocial interventions.

Weight loss is a means to an end— a healthier person. Healthier at any weight.. Real end points are metabolic, cardiovascular, quality-of- life and SURVIVAL outcomes.

The human body has evolved with many adaptive self preservation strategies. multiple biological and adaptive defenses against starvation are hard wired into human brains. These mechanisms are strong enough to override the long term effects of lifestyle modifications of the obese individual especially in our current world where we have a glut of energy rich but nutrient poor foods everywhere.
