birdeegirl's Journal, 01 Feb 19

I have been on this weight loss journey now since the end of June 2018 and today I looked back at where I was and where I am now. I like to set goals for myself for the year and I think you have to see where you have come from to get to where you are ultimately going. In the beginning I set the goal of 4lbs per month or 1 lb per week. In the end, I averaged 8.8 pounds per month. I have 5 months left of the 12 months since I started loosing weight. For the coming 5 months, My goal is to loose 6 pounds per month or 30 pounds. That will make a total of 95 pounds. Seems so unreal. Then on to my final goal.
In September I took a few measurements and today I added them up. 25.5 inches lost. So amazing to me. I have gone from a size 22/24, 3X to 16/18 and L/X. This is what keeps me motivated and excited to get up every day to see what is in store for me.
I finally have ended treatments and had my pic line removed. So happy about that. I have started to exercise more and I am using some light weights. Hoping to join the gym as soon as spring arrives and I am in better shape to exercise harder and longer. For now it is baby steps.
In my journey, I have stopped relying so much on the scale and more so on how I feel and look. That is a big win for me. Before, it would have driven me crazy if the scale didn't move but now, I am just meh who cares.
I love that I have found LC/HF and intermittent fasting for my way of life now. I do not feel deprived and if I really want something I will have it but more often then not, I don't want to break the fast or gain the water weight from carbs. If I go out to eat, I will typically have chicken and salad. there are so many yummy salads out there! I can't tell you it has been super easy but I can say it has been so worth it. My only regret is that I didn't find out about my new WOE years ago. I am happy that I found this community of support it helps to know that you are all there. Thank you FS'ers :-)

Congratulations to you! My aunt had that fibromyalgia. She cut out gluten foods and saw a great difference in her energy and her ability to loose weight. She also started to be able to move better. She unfortunately passed due to other circumstances but she was sure feeling like she was going to kick it. I feel her in your journey. Keep up your passion for it and I have no doubt you will succeed.

Thank you @Sunrize1. Fibro is one terrible messed up condition that affects so many. It has had me down for the last 3 years and I am determined to get some kind of normalcy back. :-) They say strength in numbers so, thank you for your support.
