I just wanted to post an example of how I include "naughty" foods into my WOE. I have to have carbs in the morning to off set my insulin dose; so this morning I got to have a real treat - Panettone - I love this and thought it was off the list. I mapped out my breakfast today and I was able to have one serving (which is 80g). I am really glad that you have all been willing to help me understand how this is a WOE and not a diet. and as an aside...I only had 50g because it was way too much as a serving. The rest is 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon and 40g of banana. Plan, balance and enjoy your adventure.

Hi Rock639 - "WOE" is Way of Eating - I use this instead of the term Diet. Diet to me is a short term change to my regular method of eating to adjust something (insert whatever here). WOE just represents that this is how I eat everyday normally.

Great! You've done well. Please get dr Bernstein book for type 1 diabetics. You will learn even more! If you NEED carbs to offset your insulin, you don't have your dose down. But if you're happy that's what matters. Hopefully you got a CGM and pump by now. It will help tremendously! 👍 keep up the great work

jenjabba - I have Dr. Bernstein's book and it is very informative. It has helped me understand so much of what is going on with me. It is the driver to have me work with my health care team to lower my dosage further. I want to make sure I do it safely - I have labs this Friday and I am hoping that it bears out my theory. thanks for your support and guidance.
