I switched today from Splenda to Stuvia. I thought it would leave an after taste, but it was not much different from splenda. I have been hearing that Aspartame is bad for me so I changed.

Kudos! Your body appreciates the removal of the artificial. About a year ago, I decided to get off of all sweeteners altogether. Just a few years ago, this was unimaginable! For decades, I was a big fan of Atkins, and Atkins products. After quitting all sweeteners last year, I found that coffee has a taste of its own, and began to distinguish between roasts. (I like earthy, dark roasts.) Vegetables are sweet. Packaged foods are too sweet, and most have chemical overtones. Cravings quit. I spent 59 years stuffing as much sweet into my mouth as possible, but now I want all natural, unsweetened keto. It makes me feel much better.

hank you for the information on aspartame. I have a sweet tooth and found that Splenda satisfied it. Then I started hearing stories about how bad aspartame was for me that I decided to give the Stevia a try. Right now I am loving it. I would do well to get rid of all types of sweet, but I am just not there yet. As a child, my father put sugar on everything, sliced tomatoes, cottage cheese, in his coffee etc. It was a part of life. He made the best oatmeal ever and we used sugar cinnamon and butter to compliment it. These bad habits put me up over 220 lbs for most of my life. I am now down to 172 and I don't ever want to weigh over 200 again. It was hard enough getting below 200, but once I broke the barrier and got into the 190s the rest of it was easy. I am happy that Atkins got into my head and helped me change. Your friend and follower, Kathy

I loved Atkins when I followed the book he wrote in the 70s. The more recent plans that came after his death never worked for me.

A lot of people now are using a sweetener called monk fruit sweetener. I am off sweeterner right now but I will buy it. I saw it in the health organic section of my grocery store. It is derived from a fruit and apparently very sweet so often mixed with other ingredients. So read package carefully
