abbadabba's Journal, 15 Oct 18

My vacation consisted of cleaning up my yard, fretting about my stuff, and eating. There were some other things in there also but for the most part, I stared at my things while I was at home and got ready to go out to eat. I went to the fair on Monday, and didn't eat too badly because fair food is just so darned expensive! I didn't even get a candy apple because I ran out of money.
Tuesday I had a little cake but not too bad. Then Wednesday was my birthday and my brother sent me candy but I only ate one piece a day because it was so good and I want it to last.
Then Thursday the riotous eating began. First I went to a pub for a great burger and sweet potatoes fries. I planned to eat half but ate all of it in two sittings. Then for the first fundraiser at WGBH, I tasted every restaurant sample and drank about 3 glasses of wine, beer, and cider in one ounce sips at a time. I am not allergic to anything so I basically entered the hall and just grabbed an item and asked what was in it while I ate it. Over 20 chefs were presenting. Live band, and I accidentally signed up for the VIP lounge that had a DJ and some of the most amazing butter I have ever tasted. This was repeated Saturday from 2 to 9, and Sunday 11 am to 2 pm and 5 pm to 7:30 pm. 15 hours of food bites during which time I basically said "wow, this is good" when I wasn't actually stuffing food into my mouth.
The best (or worst) part was that by Sunday I figured out that I could bring in tupperware and store some of the things instead of eating them all, but by the end of each event the vendors were giving away multiples of the samples, so I ended up with much much food. I am figuring that I will just weigh it and call it half butter and half cake as the only way to calculate the calories as I ingest it. Not sure I will even log what is going into my mouth this week either. Weigh in tomorrow might spur me one way or the other. We'll see.
Here is the haul from the brunch on Sunday. I did put a lot of it into the freezer so maybe it will stretch out longer than a week to eat. Do you think gluten-free donuts have fewer calories than regular? I ended up with half a dozen GF donuts that I put into jars and froze.
I have been depressed about my house, my weight, my job. The stupid farmer texted me this week - no offer to come over though, so yeah, thanks for nothing, sir. The vacation really gave me a reset almost refreshed, and I have another vacation next month, so will gear up to really reset for the winter from now until then. The change of seasons can be bad and this autumn just snuck up on me too quickly!
Hope you had a good Monday - it was National Grouch Day today!
