abbadabba's Journal, 11 May 10

Ah. Night shift. Day 2. I am not on a schedule yet.

Having a lot of stress over everything. I think spring just brings that out in me - maybe allergies keep me off kilter, too much celebrating outside, housework seems to double, because now we are getting the outside ready as well as the inside.

Maybe too the events we are working up to come due - all the graduations, "end of year" actvities are required to be done now! I have been to a few recitals - an end of year event for Girl Scouts - working on a bridging for my daughter and on her 18th birthday. Plus construction has started again and I have to do double duty, both inspecting and managing the paperwork, whereas in winter we can only do the paperwork. Not just a divorce thing - seems to be my life every year that I am anxious!

Holding steady, eating comfortably, not gaining, not losing - I am hoping to get the balance right on this night work so I can settle down.

You would be surprised at the number of people walking around over here at 2 in the morning - there is only a lull between 2 and 4 am, otherwise people are walking by the construction site in a fairly steady stream. Who would have thought - except that the 24-hour drugstore should have given me a clue! The car traffic hasn't been bad or backed up at all, but it too is steady all night. I took a nap for 20 minutes last night - tonight I am going to see if skipping the nap helps me stay asleep once I get home!

Have a good week people if I don't get to your journals til the weekend!

It will take you a bit to get used to your shift. It's got to be rough when you're not used to it. You also have a lot going on. You will get it together soon. Take care and have a great week.

I agree ... it will take a little time to get into the night shift swing of things. As for the kazillion other things on your plate ... no wonder you are a tad anxious!!! Stress builds up ... so even if Spring is generally an anxious time for you ... with all the changes this year it may be even more so. Take it easy when you can and hang in there!!!
