Do you burn more calories when your muscles ache?

It seems a silly question, but I had a 2 hour session in the gym last night(Bodypump/Bodycombat), & now as the day goes on, I find moving more & more difficult! I think I feel every muscle in my entire body, every move hurts, everything seems more of an effort.....so I was wondering if I have to work harder to keep going, do I burn more calories?

Anyways, I just cancelled my classes for tonight. It would be mission impossible ;-) , made myself a nice freshly brewed cup of coffee. I will take the dogs for a nice long walk in a little bit then hop on my crosser in the garage for 45 minutes or so & then just chill til its time to put the pheasants to bed. Yeah....sounds like a good plan :-)

I must find some tasty recipes for courgettes/zucchinis. I have got 5 plants in the garden & they are going loopy. They grow faster then I can use them.

Ahhh....I thought I mention this ( hope I won't jinx my progress), but I was real chuffed this morning. I have got this pair of light blue jeans in my wardrobe.....they have been there for many many years(18), & I have not worn them very often. They are my skinny jeans. I think they are actually mens jeans, but who cares! Anyway: I can proudly announce: THEY FIT AGAIN :). No muffin top rolling over the edges either. I am happy! So what I am doing must be right for me.

Hope everyone has a happy enjoyable Tuesevening!

Slipping into the skinny jeans? That is incredibly awesome. Congratulations. I don't know if you burn more calories when you're sore, but I do know you are more tired when you're sore, so something is going on. That sounds like an incredible workout. My impression of you is that you are quite fit already, so if this workout has flattened you, it must have been tough. You are smart to allow yourself some recovery time. In the long run, you'll be stronger sooner. Keep up the good work!

Congratulations on the nice jean fit! That is a great feeling! Your question is interesting. I don;t have an accurate answer - just some specualtion. I think what you are feeling might not be your body working harder but the effects of muscle fatigue as your body works the way it always does. The difference is your awareness of that working body because of your soreness. That's the way I see it anyway - might not be right. Have a great weekend!
