LSG417's Journal, 06 May 18

Hope everyone is having a blessed Sunday! Yesterday was productive from the standpoint I finally balanced my checkbook (been 2 weeks with all the mess of life), paid bills and still have a couple bucks left. Hubby was dying to see the new Avengers movie (it killed him not to go opening weekend!), but he was busy changing the windshield on the Goldwing and didn't make any reservations. Needless to say, two of the theaters were booked. At 7:15 pm, we had not had supper and he was bummed about the movie. I'm driving (his blood sugar had crashed earlier from not eating lunch) to a restaurant he suggested when he found a theater in another city 10 min away that had plenty of seats. I was getting annoyed over all the fuss about a movie (I enjoy them, but don't get into them like he does) and just wanted to eat! I had gone without lunch too since I was so busy, but I can fast short periods without issues. We ended up at Fatz Cafe. I usually get their Calabash chicken, but didn't want all the calories and can't eat the entire serving, so I chose the 6oz Sirloin baked potato and salad. It put me over my calories for the day, with the butter and two of their yummy (but small) poppyseed rolls. Was surprised when I stepped on the scale this morning. I was down a pound and a half. I guess only eating 2 meals made a difference. Well, and my bowels finally broke loose more than once yesterday, lol. Ya know, I don't have a food addiction or anything like that, but I sure do think about food a lot! Mainly what I can fix that's healthy and not loaded with carbs and calories. But I do enjoy food...a LOT. I'm just ready to be out of the 140s. I'll get there, but it's frustrating to know that all the stress and other stuff has such an impact on my body. I've kept my old scale around just to keep me from feeling too bad about the number (it said I was 135 this morning). That's a mental thing I need to try to get over. I try not to obsess about it, but it still likes to hang in the balance of my mind. Anyway, need to get off of here and fix a belated Cinco de Mayo meal, complete with homemade guac and jalapeno dip. The hubs and I enjoyed an extremely laid back afternoon (we napped, lol) but it was much needed. Tomorrow we'll be back at the grind. Hope everyone enjoys what's left of their day (or a good night's sleep if you're across the pond!!)

Wow, he's really keen about seeing movies then. For me, I could easily fall asleep on the middle with the cool breeze from the air-conditioner and the whole dark surroundings. Have a nice week. 😃

*in the middle, it's auto-correction.

This movie was pretty intense, right from the beginning. I will admit I enjoyed it. Better than some of the previous Avengers. My hubby grew up reading the comics these are based on, so his interest is higher than mine. He's still not as fanatical as a lot of folks are!

Hah.. I can relate to your hubs. I have not seen it yet either and it's killing me! Will be seeing it this coming weekend once my daughter is home from school. The nerd gene is strong in both my kids, which they got from me. You are doing great. It's hard not to obsess about the number on the scale but you are keeping it at bay and making progress. Keep it rolling.

All the marvel hero movies rock - Wonder Woman movie really great if you haven't seen - the director I understand did in here own terms and would not make a second rate movie - thanks for the support
