Good Morning World :)

And how are you this morning?

I woke up after having a dream with a clown in it for the second night in a row. But this time I can't blame the cheese ;). At least last night dream wasn't as threatening as the one before it!

I really need to learn to buy more fruit so it has time to ripen. In the moment I seem to have a week with lots of ripe fruit and then on where I have to resort to frozen fruit as the bananas are still green and the mangoes are hard :(. Glad I did freeze A LOT of plums last summer.

499 days without weigh in. Will I be tempted to weigh tomorrow? Nope!
Gone are the days when I let a number elate or depress me. My trousers are loose on me today and that is good enough.

One thing is for sure: I need to get back to proper exercise/ weightlifting. I do miss feeling strong, the stamina it gave me. And since I stopped I have lots more aches and pains. When its not my elbow, its my knee or my back. I figured out that my knee needs stabilizing exercises to be painfree.
I will get in touch with James, my former personal trainer. He has got his own place now and specialises in mobilty/kinseology. Monday nights will be ideal as LB takes Ash training.

Talking about the pickle. She is going through a phantom pregnancy. Totally of her food, clingy, anxious and just not my little happy go larry little puppy. I got hold of some pulsatilla and she is already showing some improvement :). Hope we can avoid the next episode with the help of raspberry leaf tablets!!!

Only 35 days left til we go to sunny Dorset again. Can't wait. Just LB and me and the dogs for a whole week in a cosy/comfortable cottage in a glorious countyside close to the beach.

I am sure life will throw some spanners again, it always does when I am happy. Who knows? Will deal with it when it happens :)

Happy 11th month Birthday to my puppy :)

I still can't believe that she has already enriched my life for 9 month. Where does time go? I might just take her for an extra long walk with some nice suprises like throwing a frisby and some hidden snacks that need discovering :)

I brought my Bosu ball downstairs yesterday and attempted to follow the DVD that came with it. Pretty epic fail. Well not all of it, but in Part 2 the guy really got carried away. He combined a ton of different moves with speed on a wobbly half ball. Mad! On a stepbench, maybe. So I just finished of with stabilizing exercises. Nice and slow and controlled!

No wine for me last night. Its not that I drink a lot, but I think I started to make a habit of it once I settled down for the night. Un-neccessary!!

Tomorrow its Ladiesday at the Cheltenham races and as every year we will meet LBs 2 brothers for the day there. Shame the weather forecast ain't great. One thing is for sure. My feet will ache tomorrow night and that is in comfortable boots not in silly 6inch heels ;)

Happy Days

05 March 2015

I went for an involuntary run yesterday.

It was a beautiful sunshiny but cold day. I took my now nearly 11 month old little woowoo up the track and out into the countrysite. We met lots of other walkers with their pooches. I just love to walk with her and meet and greet.
About 2 1/2 km into the walk, a guy with a massive noisy contraption comes round a bend in the track. I don't know what scared her so much and I will probably never know. Fact is, she turned and ran and nothing was stopping her. Me in wellies had no chance of catching her.
How she managed to cross the busy road without killing herself is beyond me. I was just so happy to be reunited with her. One thing is for sure: it wasn't her time to go and something or someone did look out for her and I couldn't be more grateful :)

Today she is snuggled up next to me in her little bed and my hips ache every time I get up.

Miracles do happen :)

Still competitve :)

The novelty of my fitbit has worn off a bit, but it pleases me no end when I move more than the day before. I do aim to hit 10000 steps before I go home from work. Yesterday it buzzed at me when I went to lunch :).

The other thing I treated myself to was a Bosu Balance ball. I used to use it in the gym with my trainer to activate all these little stabilizer muscles. I love it. Only downside is that the bung doesn't fit properly and I have to pump it up after every use. I have been in touch with the company and they have promised to send a new bung. So while my lovely LB fixed my car in the garage I wobbled on my Bosu ;)

Dinner was homemade sushi. Another first. I made them with carrot, cucumber, avocado and some had smoked salmon in them too. YUMMY!

Last weekend I dug up my last parsnips and after roasting a lot of them I still had plenty left. They got turned into a parsnip cake. Yum Yum.

I am a real foody these days. I am not bothered about going out to restaurants or fast food. But to be in the kitchen and create something delicious, wholesome but still fairly simple. And most of the time I succeed. Its a pleasure to eat and watch LB mop up his plate to get the last morsel.

I don't think my mum ever enjoyed cooking. It always seemed to be a chore. A neccesity. Meals were good and simply but I can't remember her ever experimenting.

LB keeps on saying I should go on 'Masterchef'. Although I would certainly enjoy the experience, I don't think I like the 'waste'. They always seem to have a ton of ingredients on their benches, just to produce a rather small plate of reconstituted, turned into foam or otherwise very complicated prepared food.

Going to the vet with Ash this afternoon for her final check-up from her babytooth extraction. And tonight is girly night. I will take LBs granddaughter to 'sing-along Frozen'. That should be fun.

Happy Days :)
