Happy that exercising again is helping the weight continue to go down. Other than that, though, I am in a funk.

I knew that as soon as my grandsons' joint 1st & 3rd birthday party was over, I would fall apart. They leave for Idaho in 5 days. They'll be gone for 2 years. I took so much video last night, it's not even funny. I'll probably turn into a crazy person, watching videos with a box of tissues over the next few months.

I got up this morning feeling off and then I saw the wading pool and bubbles out my back patio door. That set me off. Then, as I was making breakfast, I was picturing every meal I've ever served them and I spied my special "grandkid" basket with spoons, bibs, bottles and cups.

Yeah, I'm a mess. I cried for hours when my college-age son left for Sweden a year ago. Obviously, that got better with time, so I know I'll get through this.

I've been trying to do things to take my mind off their moving. I am investing in my non-grandmother self. I even applied for a job at my previous employer about 2 weeks ago. They rarely post part-time positions, so I was pretty excited to see this position open. Wish me luck!

I am very emotional as I write this journal. For weeks I have been thinking about the weekend I was going to babysit my two grandsons and how it marked the countdown to my DD and SIL moving.

Every little cute behavior, hug, kiss, smile...they just broke me up. I want to cry so much. My older grandson will remember me, and I know he'll be able to FaceTime with me. The baby, though, I'm not as secure in our relationship.

Next weekend we will celebrate the boys' 3rd and 1st birthdays a bit early. I have no doubt I will be very emotional that day too.

The boys left about an hour ago. It's amazing that I ate at all these last 30 hours, let alone that I journalled!

All day I've been thinking about how good a BLT would taste, so that is what I am eating right now. Yum. No guilt. First 2-slice sandwich I've had in ages, lol.

So tired right now...not sure how I'm going to make it through the whole work week.

I'm back from a short hiatus. I worked on Friday and then went to my daughter's house until Saturday night, spending time with her and my grandsons. It was really nice.

Next week I will have both boys for most of the weekend. I know it will be exhausting, especially since my husband works the entire weekend (as does my SIL), but since I'm in countdown mode to their move out-of-state, I'm just grabbing every chance to enjoy this special time. My daughter is getting a first ever (since becoming a mom) getaway with her high school girlfriends. She deserves it, but I know from experience how much work it is to prepare to leave your kids, lol. She'll be exhausted before she even leaves.

So, with the above being said...I have to take it easy this week in terms of exercise for two reasons. The first being this strange, weird, ongoing neck impingement. The second being how hard on my body NEXT weekend is going to be. So, I'm not going to stress or worry about weight loss for this next week. I won't change my eating habits and I'll still log my food (except for this past and next weekend), but I won't expect the scale to move. That way, if it does it will be a happy surprise.

Hope everyone else is enjoying their weekend.
