well, that's what happens when you go over your rdi a lot. i had cake this week. i made it for my friend for her birthday and ate the leftovers, not all in one sitting. i had guacamole last night, but it wasn't especially high in calories. it's just that to get it to your mouth you need a chip! my mother was here this week. every day we walked at least a mile. and we had cut fruit after breakfast and lunch, and salads around dinner time. she was a good diet influence on me.

i got my fitbit. it's the one you wear on your wrist. i'm getting about 5000 steps a day. i thought it would be more with that mile in the morning, but no. the band is already cracking, so i have to have it replaced. i like how fit mess will sync up fit bit and fat secret. i forget who told me about that.

still gaining and losing that same 3 pounds. i'll have to be more careful with my rdi this week.

this weight doesn't reflect the struggling i have been doing. i've been having a hard time not snacking, and a hard time motivating myself to exercise. i keep sleeping through the beginning of pool time, so i have to get used to telling my husband to wake me up when he is ready to go to work. mostly i've been having trouble falling asleep, sometimes staying awake until 3 am. that's why i've been having a hard time getting up at 7:30.

i think since starting this sugar challenge, i have actually been eating more sugar than before! no beer, though. i tried a starbucks orange mango smoothie, and that was a big mistake because the sugar in it just made me all that more hungry. i get that i shouldn't eat something so sweet in the morning, it's just not playing out through my actions. like intellectually i know it, but putting it into practice is something else.

i don't know what's up with the eating. i have been hungrier. i have been making bad choices. i told myself i would make some salad and green smoothies, but the veggies sit, untouched. i have to get on that.

in other news, i have decided to take up the cello. i have my first lesson on tuesday. i don't know anything about music. and i ordered a hula hoop. i had a hard time with that because the one i wanted said it was for people between 100 and 160 pounds. the other hula hoops did not say anything about weight. i finally just ordered the one i wanted. it's wide enough so i figure it shouldn't be a problem. i hope i can keep the enthusiasm up for both of these.
