I have to say I feel really good. I am deciding on what diet works best for me. I upped my good carbs while lowering my bad, have done well staying away from refined sugars (not 100% but I am doing well) and just focused on everything I eat and drink. I have also started researching and reading more regarding the health benefits in foods and different studies. I will say educating myself is also changing my eating habits (I cannot drink milk at all now and I think I am going to give up my dairy) but I understand where to get the calcium needed from other foods. (Again, this is just my change in diet - I fully support anyone on any diet) But.. I feel good. It's amazing. Since starting all this, I never feel overly and miserably full, I haven't had any heartburn, and I feel mentally better! This go around has been so much easier than my other times trying to diet. Praying it continues this way! Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday eve!! :)

Today has been good for me so far and I am so happy with my choices. Usually I cannot pass up the sweets, but today I did. Please also let me explain - when I walk into my office, there are fresh pastries, danishes, breads, etc. I can walk away from those pretty easily.. now this afternoon someone opened a package of lady fingers and put them right on my desk. I actually gave them away (and to someone else I knew would eat the whole thing! lol) Then a coworker made a drink that had orange juice and sweetened condensed milk in it and blended - I gave that away as well. Our pastry chef came in with new cookies and fresh glazed donut holes they were trying out for us (a massive platter of them) I did take half of a donut hole (I bit it) and thru the other half away and just reminded myself that I had a taste and that was going to be it. Thankfully everyone ate them so quickly they were then out of my sight! lol. But I am happy I was able to pass them up! (I am not sure how.. and I am sure there will be times ahead I will struggle passing them up - but I did it today and things are one day and step at a time!) Hope everyone is having a great day!

Ugh I think it didn't save my last entry! so... I wanted to wait the full week to weigh myself, but I also wanted to see if what I was doing was working and it is!! I do want to decrease my carbs this week and up my protein. I love the piechart! I had been thinking.. if we only gain 4 pounds a YEAR that doesn't seem like much at first thought, but lets say that trend has been since high school.. then (for me) that would be 20 years at 4 lbs at year - now it would be 80 gained pounds! I have to tell myself this is a process that will take time.

I also am so thankful for stumbling upon this site!! It is such a positive place, where I can be brutally honest about my weight and self in general and I know if I have a bad week there are so many great people to help me get back up and push forward! Love it!

I spent most of yesterday in the pool with my 3 year old daughter (my boys who are 18 & 15 were aft work and their girlfriend's house). Eventually we went in and I threw on a quick short sun dress so we could run up to the grocery store. Well I caught a glance off myself walking in. I must have the opposite of anorexia and I promise I'm not being insensitive!! I looked in the mirror before I left and thought 'OK I kinda look cute in this' and then I catch myself in the glass sliding door to the store and almost went back home! Happens all the time..I'll get dressed and feel good UNTIL I see a picture of me! How are my eyes so deceiving??

So even tho I didn't journal my food yesterday I feel I did well. I kept busy outside and then bought some snacking alternatives..for dinner I had a few bites of an organic Mac & cheese I made for my daughter but her and I both ate a big plate of salad. A few strawberries for dessert and a few sips of vanilla almond milk to kill my sweet tooth! Migraine right now and then a smoothie for breakfast. Happy Sunday everyone!
