I'm a full-time writer, so sitting at my desk for 8 hours a day is the norm for me. I use the treadmill 30 minutes a day, no less than 3.0 mph, but sometimes I amp it up to 3.5 for short periods. Interval walking. I've been at it for just over two weeks and I've lost three pounds, but I want to slow that down to gradually lose 30 pounds over the next year. I'm in no rush. I want to lose these extra pounds for good, not just shed weight quickly only to regain it--and then some--when I can't keep up the pace it took to lose it in the first place. I'm a realist.
