BuffyBear's Journal, 30 Jun 12

I really have to go shopping today - usually not a problem except I am still covered in poison ivy and have been trying to avoid public places, We are talking gross blisters now in the "yellowish runny phase". And of course, it is on my hands, face and neck.

DH felt sorry for me last night and picked up some KFC, but he is working today so I guess I'm on my own.

Guess I need to have my second cup of coffee and get this over with!

Hey I like the name tag idea of Poison Ivey, but seriously I was on vacation in Estes Park and had some sort of rash/blister that were horrible, and I needed to go back several times to a clinic there to get treatment, but felt awful because both my legs were covered with blisters, so I feel for you.

Notfast - maybe if I change the tag to read "leper" it would be more effective? Here it is 1 PM and I haven't forced myself to leave the house yet.

Oh Buffy....I feel for you! If you can't wait for DH to do this chore, then just get up there and get 'er done. It's obvious it's poison ivy and you'll probably get lots of sympathetic thoughts from anyone around. But, I know when I'm shopping, it's rare that I spend any time looking around at other people....usually too focused on the task at hand. I'm not saying I NEVER notice the other people, just saying that I usually don't notice much about other shoppers. Think how great you'll feel when you get this chore done and can relax back at home!

Sandy - Thanks for that! I found some tinted moisturizer that helped blend it in a little. I did have one teenager give me one of "those looks" - but teenagers don't count!

Buffy - are you anywhere near the ocean? Because I had a nephew w/ a serious outbreak from Poison Ivy, and the best thing that helped him was to sit in the ocean water for about 6 hours! It was all cleared up and dried out w/ in 24 hours later.... if you can get there, I would highly recommend it! Much Love!!!

Paula - Unfortunately, we live closer to the mountains than the ocean - not that I wouldn't love a dip in the ocean right now! I'm just going to have to be patient and let the steroids do their magic.
