Just realized that Metamucil has significant carbs. My doctor has suggested Magnesium. I'm trying to keep carbs 10%. Maybe I'll switch over. I'm not getting enough veggies. Can you give me some suggestions?

Try adding adding veggies at breakfast. I love pan cooked mushrooms, onion and bell pepper with coconut aminos or tahini served atop a fried or poached egg!

I don’t think it’s tahini but it’s like soy sauce.

Veggies will make the problems you are taking metamucil for that much worse. Look for psyllium seed husks at Natural Grocers they are majorly fibre so the net carbs are low. Or ask your doctor about Clearlax OTC Polyethylene Glycol 3350 which is the generic of Miralax. It’s what the bariatric and general surgery doctors all recommended to me. (Get the unflavored! Orange is gross!) 🤷🏻‍♀️ Magnesium Citrate will also help. It is about 20% absorbed if I remember right, the rest will act as a laxative. Ionic magnesium, liquid and Epsom salts have differing absorbsion so don’t have the laxative effect. 🙇🏻‍♀️ The protein powder I told you about. Purely Inspired Organic Vegetable Protein is totally vegetable based as well.🙋🏻‍♀️

I would try the magnesium citrate first. We are almost all low in mag anyway. And if you are low carb you do need to be aware of micronutrient deficiencies. Be careful with the psyllium husk as it can be an immune stimulant.
