Ok so I've been reading a really great book that I purchased from Amazon called 'The Keto Diet' by Leanne Vogel. It offers several 'Paths' for maintaining a ketogenic lifestyle. It also gives very detailed instructions of LCHF and Carb-ups. This is a very well written book that takes into account your health concerns as well as your relationship to food. It also has incredible recipes which are clearly labeled for your path. I'm going to start including formal Carb-ups and definitely start listening to my body more. I have often felt guilty after eating carbs particularly in the evenings but this book actually suggests that! Check it out!

I've watched a lot of her videos on YT, and taken some of her advice about tweaking keto for women. Was a little sad about what she means by carb-up :-) but it's real talk. Thank you for posting about the book! Is her tour going to your city? Hope you're having a great day.

I do find it a little strange that she 1) focuses a lot on gut health, yet 2) uses a lot of sweeteners like erithrytol, which can do a real number on gut health. Maybe she has done math on that and explains it in the book?

HI T8U9! She doesn't go into her reasoning at all for the use of certain sweeteners. But I don't add any sweeteners other than Pyure Organic Stevia Blend. I also cut down on the Collagen Protein in the Rocket Fuel Latte. Recently, I went back to Bullet proof coffee because the Rocket Fuel Latte didn't make me feel all that great when I had very low carb the day before. I also noticed that she is not an advocate at all of dairy...well I luuuuve dairy, lol. I think your way of eating should be designed just for you. I've seen a lot of recipes, lol...but, I always take a close look at the ingredients and then decide what is necessary and leave out what my body doesn't respond well to or hasn't responded well to. I just like her book because she does give a lot of options to a keto lifestyle that has otherwise been presented to me (in literature) as highly restrictive LCHF. I'm just glad to try out something new and see what happens.

oh and this book is the first time I have heard of Leanne Vogel. I might watch her YT channel but I always get sucked into other stuff on YT and spend 4 hours watching funny animal videos :(

I am reading "The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Living" by Volek & Phinney. I think I want to read Vogel's book too - theory of keto seems right to me though even more strict than Atkins style low carb.

I love funny animal videos, but somehow through very few clicks get sucked into ab workout videos. --- Yes, I cut back/out the collagen in coffee, too. Didn't notice she had anything against dairy; I only avoid it because I end up eating it and nuts instead of variety. Plenty of keto-ers eat dairy!
