I finally got around to trying out that Arctic Zero ice cream. It is a low calorie, low carb ice cream. I tried the Cake Batter version which has 5 net grams of carbs and 35 calories per a half cup serving. I have been researching Keto friendly sweets that I can incorporate into the diet to allow me to meet my sweet tooth needs on occasion, I believe that this is going to be the key to my success, and this is one of the options I have come across that I believe I can work into my diet. I've even debated buying an ice cream maker so I can make my own ice cream that is Keto friendly; there are plenty of high fat, low carb ice cream recipes out there.

I also got around to trying to make some type of spaghetti sauce I could have to get over another craving I have been dealing with, and I felt it came out well enough that I will make it again. I've been debating purchasing either Shirataki noodles or a Spiralizer to allow me to have things akin to Spaghetti or Alfredo again. Both have their perks, but I have not tasted either so I am not sure which would best be suited or if either will turn out as I hope.

I did purchase myself an aerobic step master so that I can get some cardio in while I am at home. I don't tend to like to go out and walk in public by myself, the first time I did go out and walk/run with friends we were heckled less than half a lap into our exercise session. A lot of college students that haven't learned the subtle nature of being tolerant, understanding, or respectful to those that don't meet their perception of "normal" and "accepted" live in this town. It is unkind, but they're just not mature enough yet to live and let live.

I've found that trying to substitute 'alternatives' in low carb always disappointing. When you're really wanting pasta, zoodles and shirataki always come up lacking. However, if you go into it expecting a NEW experience, it can be fun. I have a spiralizer, and zoodles are fun to eat. The shirataki noodles are weird, texturally, if you try to make them be pasta. But for applications where rice noodles are appropriate, they rock. As for the heckling, f**k em. You are doing what's tight for you, and maybe, just maybe, one day they'll get it. No skin off you back if they don't. We're each given one life to live, and you're doing it masterfully.

Keys is right on....I love noodles! I found a very low carb pasta sauce online and enjoy my version of spaghetti as much as I did with real pasta.

I know that it won't quite be the same, but it will be similar and more filling with the additional noodles. Also, I can see the Spiralizer providing me additional ways to prepare foods I already prepare more easily, and to give me more options for recipes down the road. It'll be great I think! I'm excited.

I like the way you think. I have tried before and thought I would just stop eating anything sweet. I did not realize the power of the body to overcome the mind. I've started trying some substitutes and I recognize everyone has different tastes but hey, some of that stuff out there is plain awful. This ice cream sounds like a good possibility. I love tapioca and puddings so I started mashing 1/4 banana with coconut almond milk and mesquite powder and chia seeds with Stevia as a sweetner. I make it hot and yes it does help satisfy that sweet tooth. I'm on the fenced with the zoodle noodle too.

I made shirataki noodles for my husband. They were rubbery.👎🏻👎🏻 Did buy spiralizer from Amazon for about $40 with 3-4 discs with it for different size and large ribbons. I made zucchini 'pasta' which was passable. I also stir fried the spiralized zucchini into a pretty good Chinese dish. Just FYI. It's really another appliance in the closet. Used 2X in 3 mos.

The spiralized zucchini is okay if you stir fry it for a bit to soften. I found that, if the tomato sauce was chunky, it made the switch from pasta easier. I found the SEEN ON TV version for $7.99 at Walmart. Works just as good for occasional use.

I'm sorry about the college students! They need to get a life and stop their entitled little existence on mommy and dad's! Ugh! 😡I've had some experiences like that in my daughter's university town being disabled and it irritates me no end. 😳Total unthinking dip wads! Zucchini and yellow squash work the best in the zoodle maker for spiral noodles and I actually prefer them with cream sauces barely microwaved warm so they are just a bit soft. With tomato, I'm not a huge fan. Stir fried it's great. I've heard spaghetti squash is great as well. And there is always ancient grain noodles that have a higher protein content if you control your intake to keep track of carbs. I haven't tried the zero carb noodles yet, but have heard good reports.

Halo brand ice cream is very scrumptious. High protein low sugar and calories. Some flavors are as low as 280 calories for a whole pint. We buy them at Walmart, so they should be easy to find.

yaaas! I just bought Arctic Ice Cream yesterday for this sam reason! Before Keto I LOVED anything PB and chocolate and found one yesterday! I believe this brand has even lower Carb count than Halo. A little more $ though ($5 😬) but if I can eat 1/2 cup for 5 carbs I'm gettin it LOL

I do the Artic Zero (just a spoon full on top of a medifast brownie) & Shirataki noodles (for my spaghetti), love them both.

Try looking up the recipe for keto cheesecake! It's so rich and a fat bomb so it does double duty of curbing cravings and being a tad sweet

I really enjoyed the Arctic Zero, especially in South Florida because its so refreshing! I splurged on the cookie dough, ate half yesterday and half today (300 cal a pint). Liked the chocolate mint (150 cal). Expensive but a real, guilt free treat!

I haven't tried the Halo ice cream yet. I'll give it a shot some time. I bought two pints of Artic Zero so it'll be a while before I run out.

Hmmm...here Halo ($5 and change) is more expensive than Arctic Zero ($4 and change). I tried both and like Arctic Zero better : ) I buy whatever is cheaper.
