RubyRedSox's Journal, 21 Oct 11

It's grey and wet outside but warm inside. I'm sitting here with my coffee and just got an email from my daughter that they can't make it. She was coming over with my grand daughter but her boyfriend doesn't want her spending time with me so they fought. Controlling, manipulating relationships are so hard to deal with (and get out of). I know from personal experience.

I can't say I like weekends anymore as my daughter can't contact me because "he's" home and gets mad. I went through all this myself. Breaking the cycle isn't easy and is damn painful to watch.

Anyway, I had planned to roast a chicken and winter squash today for our lunch which, since the chicken is already defrosted I'll continue with my plans. I wanted the bones for stock as I'm running low. So switching gears, I'll see what I can accomplish today.

Been there done that, have the emotional/mental scars to prove it. Its so hard to watch loved ones go down that path too. I really hope she is able to break the cycle. Maybe not today, or tomorrow or next week but eventually for her sake and her baby's sake.

So true Bren. I stayed with them for 2 weeks after Lilly was born and was amazed at how immature he is and he's in his mid 30's. He even yelled at her and the baby at night when the baby woke him up! I mean.. babies DO that. It's like he's maturity is stunted at about 11-13 and that's not an exaggeration. Sigh.. think I'll make some tea lol. ♥

So sorry Ruby... I know where you are at. During my divorce around 1999 (to a Peace Officer), my youngest daughter was emotionally then physically abused by a childhood boyfriend at 15. She had ran away to Mexico and Las Vegas, I attended couseling and was told I would have to wait til she needed me and wanted help. That was the hardest thing I think I have ever had to do in my life. It happened, but not until she had her jaw broke in 3 places... She is now thriving, married, has two children, is a school teacher, going to college and loves life (and God)! Your daughter will eventually need you and ask for help, no doubt in my mind... Take care, and Big Hugs (((((RUBY))))

Love is blind; but sooner or later the blinders fall off. Let's hope for you and her sake, it's sooner.

Oh, Ruby, I am so sorry....my baby sis' first marriage was like that...sooner or later she will wake up. As for him not letting her see you, aren't you going to be watching the baby while she works? What a jerk!!! Hugs, Ruby and if you need to talk, you know where to find me! Love ya, my sweet friend! <3<3<3<3

Sorry for this disappointment, Ruby. It must be awfully hard to watch. I hope it all gets resolved sooner than later.
