On just a low carb day (not LC/HF) I used to have a few beers on the weekend (Miller Lites). They didn't have low carb pizza back then, but I ate a bag of pork rinds with it. I ate burgers or hot dogs without the bun but with all the fixings and used a knife and fork.

I am totally against alcohol but stay away from beer and wine. If you have to have a alcoholic drink, drink distilled alcohol. It has no carbs and the sugars evaporate during the making. rum vodka bourbon etc. scotch is prefered mix with water and lemon or a diet soda. and I suggest a low carb pizza also.

There are many recipes for low carb pizza using cauliflower or sweet potato as the crust. Some carbs - but less than wheat crust. I am a baseball fanatic, too!

My diet says beer is out, but wine or a hard drink is OK. Generally, think that low carb, or low fat, means artificial.

Oh, and beer of any type is like drinking bread! Low carb, lite, whatever...most have barley, malt, yeast...
|
@hcb, so if u drink a beer and it says 2 carbs, there are really more carbs than that?

@mistybenner - probably not more carbs than listed but not necessarily worthwhile due to the ingredients.

Thanks for all your input, the beer I was thinking about is Michilobe light it says 2.5 carbs. It's not really the alcoholic I'm wanting or I could use the hard stuff, I think it's just a part of watching baseball. So I'll have to put more thought into it maybe if it's a special game. I've watched plenty of games without it before so that's probably what I'll do see I just needed all of your good advice to guide me. You guys are all so good.

Do you eat low-fat cheese? I love cheese too

Pour your alternate beverage of choice into a cold beer bottle to have the holding/drinking/cheers-ing amber/green bottle experience?

@angelamaximum my cheese is whole fat, I'm on a LCHF eating plan there's just something about it that makes me stall because it is permitted on my plan. @kpwcalories that's a great idea I think I'll try it.

It is actually nice to hear about cooking from scratch what you produced on your farm. I got a pleasant picture of a nice old kitchen with a checked table cloth.

I heard the lactose in cheese turns to sugar and that's probably why you stall.

So about your pigs of yesteryear, I have been hearing a lot lately about all the stuff they inject animals with these days. OMG I read an article about the suffering turkeys go through during thanksgiving then the fish farms... Chickens being injected with caffeine painkillers u name it. They said chickens grow while awake... Oh my. I bought eggs from a local farm they sell at store. Im looking them up and make sure it's real. 😔

@Mistybrenner, it's awful what they do to our food that's why we have so much illness. But some of us can't afford to buy all organic food so we have to deal with it the best we can. Buy what we can organic and deal otherwise. Even back on the farm it's hard to find non modified seeds to plant. But I still hope to retire back to the country hen my DH retires.

I know Addie I've yet to purchase grass fed butter or meat but like I said I did buy the eggs from a "local" farm (2hrs away...) but their reviews and website seem to be legit. I will try to go to farmers markets soon. I used to raise chickens years ago I loved those girls. Baby steps.

I would love to raise chickens. My husband says they are nasty. He loves to eat their eggs! I think he is afraid of them. Hee Hee!

I'd like to have chickens too when my mother raised them the only place I thought was nasty was the hen house. It had bars that ran from one side to the other for them to roost on at night and the other side had nest boxes for egg laying and my dad kept the floor which was dirt scooped out and it was used for firtlizer in on the garden (no artificial stuff) the chicken yard was clean enough. Our neighbor didn't have a fenced chicken yard his just roamed around and went to the chicken house at night and to lay eggs. When I was raising my kids we had 6 wild turkeys (not the white things) they were really pretty and acted like dogs. When you went out the door in the morning they would meet you and gobble at you and then would follow you around talking to you. You could pet them, they had free run of the place and roosted in the trees. They were enjoyable to have. We had a couple of the little banty chickens for pets also. As you can see I'm a country girl my present DH was really something special to get me to go to the suburbs.

My diet says forget all the separating eggs thing, and eat them all. My dad loved eggs, and I love them too.
