Addie Aline's Journal, 20 Jan 16

Don't usually do 2 journals in one day but I wanted to ask those who have a Fitbit that you wear on your arm what do you think of it? I'm thinking about the Fitbit Charge HR. I had the little one that goes on your waist band but I want the HR to help me keep up with my heart rate since I'm having problems. And it will be nice to be able to charge it because I had to change batteries in the other one and it used the batteries up fast. Any way I would like your input.

I like mine- but the battery only lasts 2 days for me. It has opened my eyes as to how little sleep I get. It fastens very well so you don't have to worry about it falling off. It is a bit bigger or clumpier that I would prefer, but I really like it. I got a large, and if I ever manage to lose any weight it won't fit me anymore....

Received one as a Christmas gift and I really like it. The data about activities, calories, stairs, HR, sleep...etc. are fascinating. I don't think that the step counter is truly accurate, but the data from treadmill work and recording stationary bike time as a workout seem bang on. Also, just found out that Fitbit has a new device called the Blaze that will be released in March. Looks more like a smart watch than a fitness tracker, but it includes all of the Charge HR features and more.

I've owned a Flex and a Charge HR. They both worked well for recording data but the battery life on the Flex was a little longer than the Charge. The Charge stopped working after a few months or so. I replaced it with a Samsung Gear Fit which has a color screen and more functionality.

I just got the Fitbit Charge HR at the end of December and have been wearing it since January 1. I really like it. I especially like being able to check my heart rate to see if I'm in fat-burning mode, or in cardio-mode. My battery lasts 4-5 days before needing a charge, but I don't have it synced to my phone, so that may be why mine is lasting longer. I log on from my computer once or twice a day, and my stats are usually already updated. It plugs into your computer USB port and is fully charged in 1-2 hours. There is a FatSecret Fitbit group, with about 20 of us currently active over there. It's called FatSecret FitBits. Go to www.fitbit.com/groups and search for this group.

Good info on the FatSecret site, mmeyer. Thanks. I have been using the Flex for years now. Dog chewed up the clip on type I had at first, then I lost a Flex, bought a new Flex, found the Flex I lost, gave that one to my son .... and my Flex is still carrying on strong. I charge mine on the desktop with the "dongle" .... love that name. I used to want to see the actual number of steps I did on my wrist, but I am so used to see the little lights flash now ... plus I bought several colored bands off Amazon for it ... that I am happy with it for now.

Thanks for all your input . I will be getting one I hope the heart rate is fairly accurate on it. All the other things it does will be nice to. I know having the little one you wear on your waist helped me to want to walk more.
