Yearofhealth2023's Journal, 22 Apr 24

Realized yesterday this is the first summer since 7/22 where i do not have a major surgery on the horizon after 3 very long very serious surgeries 7/22 8/22 and 7/23. Each surgery was minimum of 7 hours under anesthesia with last one 11 hours and difficulty waking me on all three. What an exhilarating feeling to go into summer feeling fantastic and looking healthy. Was so unwell on 1st surgery i was certain I wasn’t going to make it thru and in all honesty BP was so high surgeon nearly called it off. Praise God I feel so blessed. Hope many many others out there are feeling the same. I love my life.

That's so scary YearOfHealth, I'm on lost two friends back in the '90s to anesthesia. I was terrified both times my children were put under for dental surgery for that very reason. I know it's a lot safer these days though. I'm so happy to hear that you don't have to go through anything like that this summer and that you can enjoy yourself.

Thanks Leah!! The last surgery i had was elective and took anesthesiologist over 2 hours to get me to start to come around. At one point he got pretty nervous and came out to talk to hubs about it. The whole procedure was supposed to be 8-9 hours and wound up over 11. Luckily hubs didnt know how dangerous the situation was. Thank you again tho. Yes anesthesia is no joke. Especially if you have underlying conditions that need to be managed.

Morticia i feel like i was a failure in taking care of myself and prioritizing my health choosing to prioritize my financial health and well being over all else. Im very blessed to have this second chance. I feel like i am a cautionary tale to younger people. Treasure your own health and well being before anything else so you can be the best mom, wife, daughter, employee and so on. But i probably wouldn’t have listened anyway nor did I want to listen in 2022 but i was forced to slow down for surgery and the well being i started to experience was truly life altering.

Yes, the last surgery for you was scary! I remember being so concerned about your recovery! I’m sure you are glad that’s over with! Now you can concentrate on getting your cholesterol under control and I have faith that you will figure it out! Where did you guys decide to go on vacation? We will be in your area next year. We too have plans to go to Hawaii but it’s so hard to find care for Sydney that we decided to put it on hold. 💜

I do understand. There is nothing worse on you mentally when you feel so bad that you cannot move. I can remember some of my chemo treatments that I would feel so bad that I would just roll up in a ball and cry. Not to mention all the nasty things that go with it and the drugs they have you on to keep you alive. I still shutter and that was almost 10 years ago. Definitely rejoice every day we feel good and on top of the world!

Last summer I faced surgery as well. We twinned on the date. Remember? Yours much more serious than mine but nonetheless, we both made it and have a bright future ahead by Gods grace. I love you yoh. You’re so sweet and encouraging. No one quite like you my love. 💖😘
