I've been trying to bump up my protein and reduce my sodium intake.
I didn't think that it would be this difficult! LoL
I'm not one for eating much in the way of 'I have to cook it' meat but I definitely know when I need the protein
because I get the most intense craving for a hambuger...that and the fact that my muscles are screaming at me!!

I am, however, a Gluten Free deli meat lover, yup! and that's where all my sodium is hiding
but it is ever soooo convenient and delicious ;)
Mortadella Light solved that dilemma with 1/2 the sodium content per slice than that of
of other deli meats including chicken and turkey!! Wooohooo win, win for me!

Bocconcini cocktail balls are a life saver for me too - absolutely NO sodium and NO TASTE! LMaO
I have found a way to make them more palatable to my tastes with the use of a salt free herb&garlic seasoning
and a smidge of grainy mustard or Seafood cocktail sauce..
The sweet craving is alleviated with Nutella on rice cakes instead of Caramel flavoured Pop Chips.
Huge sodium reduction for me!!

So...all in all...I've managed to reduce my sodium intake by almost 1000mg of what I usually consume and increase my protein by about 30mg!

The most beneficial thing to come out of my having to watch my sodium intake is that my son is now more aware of all of the hidden salt he consumes.
He bought a 6" turkey deli sub from Zehrs - sodium content was almost 3000 mg.!!
Now THAT is shocking!!

Chicken chest, beans, beef, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, peanut butter it’s good source of protein. But I’m talking about homemade, no frozen stuff from the markets. There is a lot of variety of cooking. Protein powder or protein bars as the snack or dessert
