The greatest day in your life and mine is when we take total responsibility for our attitudes. That's the day we truly grow up. ~ John C. Maxwell

There is a lot of truth in that statement. It has nothing to do with who is nice to me, how badly my car is acting, whether someone thinks I'm pretty or not. My attitude and perspective are mine to control.

If I don't like the looks of the situation I'm seeing, there's another angle. Even if it's not a good situation, there are options for dealing with it that are within my control.

One of the biggest things I have learned and am trying to grow within me is that I am not at the mercy of life. My choices, while they may affect others, are mine to make and need to be made with my best interests in mind regardless of whether I think others may agree or disagree. I'm better at it, but it's still something I have to practice and re-practice.

There may be little else that you can control. Your finances may be out of whack, your relationship may be wobbly at times, you may not like the job you're doing but you have control over you and your attitude. It affects you more than others so what will you choose today? I choose a hopeful, helpful, focused attitude.

Have a good day, buddies...

<3 I too have learned this and am in training also. Wish it hadn't taken me almost 40 years to realize it, but better late than never.

Isn't it amazing it takes us the first 40 years to get to the good points? :) My best years started at 42 and they just keep getting better. I'm more "me" than I knew I ever could be.

It most certainly is amazing! Another thing for me was that I completely forgot about me and who I was after having kids. ALL of my focus was on them. Now, I have learned that there has to be some balance there and make time for myself also. I fid a little piece of my that I had lost on a regular basis. Wishing you a marvelous Monday! :)
