Happy Saturday FS friends!
In thinking about this ongoing journey, I've realised that there are so many NSVs (non scale victories) that have happened along the way. Some of the coolest ones are things that I've not been able to comfortably do in decades. For instance - crossing my legs when sitting. Find myself doing this naturally, but as it happens is also a big no no for those of us with prosthetic hips. Dang comfortable though. Then there are the quality of life ones. I've been very lucky to have a friend in the region who regularly gets free tickets for shows at the Casino. In the past 2 weeks we've gone to 3 shows/concerts. (Legends in Concert, Dancing Queen and Colin James). There was a time where I'd be limping and tired from the walk just getting into the venue. No more. Sitting in a seat at the venues, kind of squish in and feel claustrophobic as the larger size means you're closer to your neighbours. No more. And the funnest thing? Standing and dancing through the show with unabashed joy singing along full blast. Whaaaat? Deja Vu from 40 years ago. Don't care how dumb I might look or sound doing it, but dang, it feels so gooood!
Am working to internalise that this effort is worth it and remember just how good it feels to be a smaller person with tons of energy. Never, ever want to go back. There isn't a cinnamon bun on the planet that can beat this feeling.
Over and out
