Good Morning, FS Warriors!

Came home last night to a beef pot pie in the oven and a note telling me DW was at the church getting some training in financials. So, she is coming out of her slumber. Since I had Praise and Worship practice last night, we passed each other going and coming. Apparently, she is still not ready to talk, but at least she is up and moving. I probably shouldn't be telling the whole world about these episodes, but who knows, there just may be some that appreciate knowing that there are other FS people on here going through the same things they are. I'll just continue to pray for her, and pray that I learn not to do whatever triggers her negative emotions. You would think that I would have figured it out after 33 years.

Well, I did all right on the diet until I got back from church. That banana split ice cream was calling to me from the freezer. I was sure that it was going to taste like heaven itself; but ironically, from the second bite onward, I was wishing I hadn't gotten it out. I'm sure it tasted fine, but it wasn't worth it. Clothes are fitting a little looser, but like everyone else, I wish it would happen a lot faster.

My appointment with the Dr. is next Friday. I am going to find out whether I am still pre-hypertensive, normal, or have escalated to hypertension. I am not expecting any other surprises from the blood work results. I wish I would have started back up on my diet sooner, so I would know whether weight loss would take care of any blood pressure issues. I am pretty sure that if I go on any kind of blood pressure medication, it will take divine intervention to come off of it.

Well, there isn't much happening in my world yet, I expect that the next week will be fast and furious, with the Village Bard Meeting, and the Nursing Home Ministry. Hopefully, DW will be back to normal and I will be tackling one project after another. Here's to all of you, hoping your day is wonamous. Toodles!

Glad to hear DW seems to be doing a bit better, hopefully that will continue. If you get on BP meds all hope is not lost. When I had my first stress test done 4 years ago they almost stopped it as my blood pressure went sky high during the exercise. I was put on meds which included a diuretic. However since I've lost weight and am incorporating a good bit of cardio exercise my blood pressure is well in the normal range without the meds and I've taken myself off them....haven't told the doc yet but I monitor my pressure daily and it really is very good and I have a supply of the pills if needed. So there is hope even if they put you on meds.

That's good to hear, though I had always heard that it was dangerous to quit taking blood pressure meds cold turkey. Sometimes I just wish I could have like a 5 pound bowel movement to see if there was a change in blood pressure; then I'd know for sure whether the weight was going to make a big difference.

We do appreciate you sharing your struggles, both with food and the people in your life :) you are wise to know that you are not alone. I hope DW talks to you soon and tells you what has been going on with her. And I hope it wasn't you that sent her into this funk :P

No worries DK. I know no one likes the idea of having to be on a lot of medications but you're putting your health first. Lifestyle changes, meds or both that blood pressure needs to be in a normal range to protect you from bigger problems down the road. I hope your DW continues to improve. Stay well my friend :)

I went off the blood pressure medication gradually, started it by taking a half pill a day instead of a full pill, then off the diuretic, then less and less of the meds while continuing to monitor my blood pressure.

TY for sharing, seeing others deal with food, relationships, room mates helps me stay a little more balanced. I'm on 4 meds for BP working with doctor to get off of them. Day at a time. Have a Blessed day:)

Easiest way to lose weight is to clean out the fridge & pantry. If sweets are in reach, they will be consumed. This may be the reason why you've only lost 8 pounds. Hopefully losing fat can prevent resorting to pills and all those side effects that come with them.

Your brain is composed almost entirely of fat. The easiest way to lose weight would be to remove your brain, but then about all you could do is become a politician.

Thanks for sharing with us! It is, of course, your own journal and you should write anything you want! Everything effects your diet, or way of eating. Family, friends, social, economics, everything is a cause and effect, or just surviving issues. We are here for you! I have thoroughly enjoyed your posts. Glad DW is coming around, albeit in her own time!
