We finally had a not tooo hot weekend in NY. It was actually pleasant in Harriman Park. We hit mid-60s in the evening which was great sleeping weather for me since I decided to go glamping (camping but in a full function lodge with no AC). I ate so much this weekend and am happy when I stepped on the scale that it was only a small gain. This is my kind of weekend!

I also finally tried outdoor climbing. I was soo scared I started to have stomach cramps, nausea and felt tears welling up. But I did it. I did one climb and made it to the top. I'm not sure I like it better than indoor climbing, but it could be that I was too scared to take the time to check out the view. I was soo focused on holding out I forgot to turn around to see what was around me. All I remember seeing was the rock with lichen that I was touching. Maybe... maybe... if my group does another beginner climb in the fall I will try.

I hope everyone had an equally exhilarating weekend!

@erika not really better memories because there wasn’t much to remember except my fear and conquering it. I honestly can’t say I enjoyed it.

Sounds like a good trip( for most part .) I am super scared of heights so no climbing for me but I admire your courage!👍🧗

@diana thanks I don’t really have a fear of heights but I do have a fear of falling. Lolll I know that sounds strange but there is a difference for me. I can handle the heights if there is a railing etc… anything really between me and the drop but I suffer from vertigo. When there’s nothing in between me and the drop I start to get dizzy and light headed.

@p$m Thank you! It looks like a cool place )) we will probably book for two nights. Any advice for us to be more prepared? We booked once tent, I believe cabins will be more comfortable 😀

@ultra the closer you pick your tent spot to the main part of the center is best. Also when you rent a spot one the platform one tent usually covers enough for a 2 person tent. If you don’t rent the whole platform someone will be tenting right next to you. If you don’t want to bother with food you can see if the offer the meal plan.
