Nikina70's Journal, 25 Apr 23

This morning I did:
Funk Roberts - 24 Minute Full Body Functional Muscle and Strength Workout - Hypertrophy Training
(I used 5kg dumbbells)

Followed by:
Jessica Valant Pilates - 5 Minute Back Stretches and Hip Stretches - For Tightness and Pain Relief!

Below is a list of my favourite strength/workout Youtubers, some of whom I've been using for about 10 years already. This is just for my own reference and for bryony_pudding - thanks for your comment on my last post Bryony!

- jessicasmithtv
- HASfit
- Sydney Cummings Houdyshell
- Caroline Girvan
- Heather Robertson
- Juice & Toya
- Kaleigh Cohen Strength
- Funk Roberts
- Penny Barnshaw
- PHOENIX NATION
- Reps To The Rhythm
- Jump Rope Dudes
- growwithjo
- The Body Coach TV by Joe Wicks
- Body Project
- Fitness with PJ
- POPSUGAR Fitness

And then for some varied stretch routines (although many above have great warm ups and stretches on their channels as well):
- Daniela Suarez
- Well With Hels
- MadFit

I like variety and often will pick a workout on the day - not following any specific program or structure. This is what works for me. I haven't worked out much at all for the past 5 or so months since I started my evening job, which is almost 3 hours of constant movement 5 days a week so I finally feel ready to ramp things up again. A year ago I was doing 3 or 4 workouts a week as well as many daily walks and I will hopefully get back to that again this summer. I just need to make the most of these longer daylight hours and warmer temps. Funnily enough I weighed about 3kg more this time last year and I was feeling very 'fluffy'. Still have some 'fluff' to shift, but there are some NSV with a size 10 skirt I am almost fitting into for summer so I have something else to work towards too. Thankfully the muffin top seems to be gone though!

And I recently realised that I've been a member of FatSecret since March 2013. How time flies!!!

My original goal was to reach 70kg (hence my username) - and I reached that in November 2013. I've since fluctuated (staying in the yellow, green and blue range though) through the years and eventually hit lowest at 60kg in December 2017 and a peak at 72.5kg in June 2021. So as I'm hovering around goal again I'd like to stabilise and finally master maintenance this year and into the future. Putting it out there to hold myself accountable.

Hope you're all having a Terrific Tuesday! x

Its a great idea to do a resume of where you are and where you have come from every now again. I do enjoy reading about people's journeys and how they are getting on. Many FS members are here and gone, they reach their goals, they give up, find a different app etc. so I really appreciate the long-standing members and their insights and recommendations. (yes, you, Nikina!)

Yes, they are all on YouTube Chess. Browse away! Some are more intense than others, but many of them cater to a wide range of fitness levels from beginner onwards and there are a range of workout lengths as well so you can do whatever fits in to your day best. But walking is also one of the best and most useful tools in weight loss so keep up the good work with your daily walks!👍

Aah, thank you Anne!!!💕 I really appreciate you still being here too!!! I love that I can look back at posts from years ago and see what I was up to then and what was working or not. And I have wall and desk calendars going back three years where I've tracked weight and exercise too. Keeps me sane in some respects when other things in life can be all over the place.
