Happy July in November... cause it freakin warm here in NY. I'm wearing a sweater in 74 degree weather because I've put all my warm weather clothing away already. Thankfully the office is cold with the AC blowing.

I went to the dr last week. My cholesterol is up again so I need to add oatmeal to my diet. It helped last time so hopefully it will help again. I never had the cholesterol problem before since I didn't eat meat. But now I've been eating more of it and I guess my ice cream addiction isn't the best for my cholesterol either. I know part of this issue is due to genetics. Mom and Dad have high cholesterol so...

Hopefully the change in my diet to keep my cholesterol down will help me drop some weight... sometimes (sadly) it takes a health problem to keep me on track.

Have a great week and dont forget to vote!

@P$M: You should be able to access your lab results online, both the tests from May and November, and see how much your cholesterol went up from eating more fatty food recently. I like to stay on top of such tests, especially now that I'm 51 and post-menopause. "Fine" or "Normal" is not a test result in my world -- I like to see trends.

@bananas my dr did give me the numbers I just don’t remember what they were except the bad number of course. It was 225 but the good number was in the 100s some thing like 150s. Strange how I always remember the bad.

I would look those up, definitely. Trigs or LDL being 150 is sitting on the border of normal vs. elevated. How's the oatmeal this morning?😋

When my cholesterol was just a little high I asked my doctor what I should avoid eating. Egg yolks, red meat and shrimp. I gave those up for 6 months and my numbers were normal again. Sometimes it isn't the diet but hereditary. I can't eat oatmeal - I've tried but just can't stand it.

@fritzy I love oatmeal. Just had some for lunch. I find it very comforting.
