I have learned today since I am paying more attention that I am stress eating and drinking due to other people's mistakes. I need to get over that. I am a lead on a customer service team for a mutual fund company. I was moved back to this team last March so most of my teammates I have never met in person--working from home since March 13 2020 nor have I trained them.

I should not be feeling responsible for them if they screw up! Part of my job is reviewing phone calls in different situations and providing feedback that really should be the responsibility of our managers. They push most things onto the seniors and leads instead of dealing with staff themselves now. 2 major screwups on calls today and I'm not leaving it @ work. It was easier when we could walk out of a building and leave work there and had managers who were hands on and managed their staff. I turn off the computer, shut the door to my office and it doesn't go away when people make big mistakes.

gave myself a stomach and head ache. Gotta quit this so it's not affecting me after work.

Can you get out for a walk at lunchtime or when you turn off your computer? I do this and even just 10 minutes of enjoying nature gives me some mental distance from work problems.

Yes, I agree, no need to hurt yourself over other peoples' mistakes. I hope you get a handle on it!

Hard to let it go sometimes. Hope you can find a healthy way to unwind. 🌹

I totally get you. I am a compliance manager for an investment firm and responsible for multiple regions and advisors. It used to be much easier when we were all working in the office on so many levels. Don’t stress over work and the people. It’s not worth it. Good luck. 👍

do you have an actual "office" at home or are you set up in your living room, dinning room or bedroom? Do you have a space in your home that you can make a separate office area? One when you are done for the day you can shut the door on and close that part of your day off? If so that might help separate home from work a bit. If not when you shut down your work part of your day, maybe shut off the computer, put files away, walk out of the house, take a deep breathe and then walk back in like you are walking into your house after coming home from work. Just a couple ideas for helping to separate work from home life.

I bet they aren't paying you enough to be this stressed! I hope you can focus on your own goals and productivity and give yourself enough kudos that you don't need to worry so much about what everyone else is failing at :)

WFN are going to retire when you move? You have so much on your plate right now ... I can relate to the stress eating. Somehow you have to find a way to take back control over your life. Being able to walk away once the computer is shut off is key. Throw a towel or blanket over it, or something. LMAO!! Cuss at it.

I try to leave work @ work but finding myself stressed due to reviewing others financial errors. Yesterday was 400,000+ dollars involved. I have a separate office--used to be a spare bedroom. Nope they don't pay us enough and the management is pushing more and more of the management jobs to the tenured reps. I have turned down management positions for over 10 years as don't want it. Sandy, it will be spring of 2023.

I am escaping to my cabin in the woods this weekend. It will do me good. Hoping that we have foundation and well estimates completed so we can get the app to bank for the construction loan. Getting the estimates has been the hardest part.

Oh that is wonderful news SPRING!! .... I can understand getting estimates is difficult. Living out in the boonies is great but getting anyone out here is hard work in itself.

I think that I just needed to be aware of what I was doing. That way I can work on not doing it.

I find myself doing the same thing with world matters, unable to let go and it affects my eating and my sleeping. In my case, I can just turn off the news and walk away from it, but you cannot, as it is your work. When I was working, I found relief in the arts. I subscribed to the symphony, the ballet, the opera, the theater, museums. I would attend on weeknights, after work, and these things lifted me up and changed my mindset. I hope you can find something that does that for you.
