AuntieJan's Journal, 20 Jun 11

Boy am I pooped. Long week with not many breaks and not enough sleep. Absolutely craving my gym time, if I do nothing else tomorrow I am getting up and going to the gym! It is so incredibly easy to stray off course and I need to get back on task here. I have a mission. In fact I think I need to make myself a sign stating that. Of course that sign might look even better adorned with a Sven or a Giorgio or any of the firemen from the P³ squadron. ☺

Really good day and some bad. I think I'll focus on the good stuff. I met with a new client this morning that was referred to me by a previous one, super nice people that want a little girl's room done as well as a bathroom and a couple other things. Not just painting, but murals and vignettes in several themes. I told them I'd have some sketches drawn up for them by the end of the week. Way cool!

Finished up at the new Nomad building (well at least for this week) and tomorrow I'll be finishing up the children's mural. I ushered a rogue Skink out of the building this afternoon, it got in there on Saturday and several people that are not used to our diverse Floridian population of small amphibians and reptiles were quite freaked out by him. I explained that they were harmless unless someone tried to EAT one and that they eat bugs INCLUDING cockroaches but the lizardphobes were steadfast in their fears. So, Auntie Jan ushered his little Skinky self right out the front door this afternoon. The new Nomad world is safe from vermin and pestilence now! LOL

Well darn I am nodding off here, with laptop on lap and Molly waiting patiently for he evening constitutional. I'd best get her out, and me to to bed and rise rested and ready to battle another day!!!

Peace to all.

Good evening Auntie Butterfly! You have really been bustling your busy butterfly butt around here lately. You may crave the gym, but I bet you're burning a lot of calories with all the work you've been doing. How exciting that you have some new clients to display your talents to! That sounds like a lot of fun as well as hard work! I'm happy to know you are ridding your church of unwanted visitors - the work never ends, does it? I am embarrassed to ask this but what do you mean by P whatever-it is? Have a good rest, and a great day tomorrow! HUGS!

It must be nice to be so talented. Hope the little girl realizes how lucky she! Now, please excuse me, I have to go Google skink.

Congrats on finishing up the big job. The custom work sounds fun (I also do custom work - one of a kind clothing) I hope for you they are the kind of customer who is hiring your creativity and expertise - not just you hands to do what THEY want!! I got a post card from Giorgio, he and Sven should be back late next week sometime (they miss us!!!)

LOL Buffy did you find the info on a Skink you sought? They are weird little creatures, the bright blue tail is a warning not to eat it... I have seen cats go nuts for about 20 minutes after catching one.

Jill thank God you found them, perhaps they went on a shopping trip to bring back all kinds of exotic food and beverages!

Auntie - We have skinks here too - I just never knew what you called them. I asked my husband this morning and he didn't know either. I need to ask some of the "locals" to see if any of them know that their real name isn't "blue lizard".
