I had an awful day yesterday. My cats are 100% inside. I don't want them outside, I worry about them too much. But one of them, Tony, watches my every move to plan his next escape. He managed to squeeze out of the sliding screen door I didn't close all the way, maybe 2 inches open. When he gets out I know he won't come back until he's good and ready. I think this was the 3rd time this year he's escaped. The last time was March I think. I drove around the block 2 or 3 times during the day, also went out about a dozen times to walk up the bank on the side of my house so I could see a large area. I didn't catch a glimpse of him all day and have no idea where he went. He got out just before 10am. I was a wreck all day but at least there is very little traffic on my street which is a loop or circle. But we often get propane trucks and lots of delivery trucks. Yesterday there wasn't much of anything and nobody's dogs were running around. Around 7pm I saw the feral porch kitty I feed twice a day at the top of the steps coming up the porch. Kitty was crouching and looking down the steps. I had the front door open with the screen door closed. I opened a can of cat food and Tony came darting up the stairs past Porch Kitty to the door. He came in when I opened the door. He only came home because he was hungry. He was loving me, rubbing against my legs as if to say "thanks for letting me out, I had the best day ever". I worry too much but can't help it. He wasn't dirty or dusty, no stickers. I don't even remember what I ate yesterday, all I did was look out windows and stand on the porch or deck calling for Tony.
