Happy-ish Wednesday. My stomach is still off. I had my first colonoscopy and as expected I lost a pound from the prep which is great. Hopefully it will stay away but I've been so traumatized by the prep that I've been treating myself to a dove ice cream bar in my coffee every morning (stupid Instagram gave me the idea). It's deliciously dangerous. I need to stop.
The procedure was fine as everyone told me. "You wont even remember or notice". But before I was taken to the room, I had the weirdest impending doom feeling. I've had that before another surgery too. I don't know what that is. I'm fine until that time where I'm waiting to be rolled into the room. For the next 24hrs I was woozy (I'm sensitive to anesthesia) and just crying for no reason. Testing was all good and everything was fine. This is also a strange side effect from being put under.
Could the crying be relief? It doesn't feel like relief. It feels sad not scared and maybe a little lonely. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Don't underestimate the aftereffects of anesthesia on the weepiness. I know when my body is physically down I sometimes get weepy. Glad everything was OK 👍

that prep is nasty! I feel pretty weepy after anesthesia too. be kind to yourself.

I worried so much before my colonoscopy and it was so easy. I didn't even realize they had done it when they told me it was time to go. Don't know about getting weepy, so just be a relief. Hopefully you'll be back to normal in a day or two. Love the idea of a dove bar in coffee!

Thanks Fritz. Yep I was worried it was gonna hurt after but like you said it was fine and I had no idea. I read the report and it said my procedure only took 7 minutes.

@Darth what a relief it’s not just me. I’ve had depression issues in the past and didn’t know if it was coming back. I was considering therapy again but decided to post here first.

@ride oh my. I hope everything is ok. I’m avoiding it for another 10 yrs. The dr said ever 5-10 yr. So I’m pushing for 10+ If I can.
