Vopli's Journal, 02 Feb 15

My scales are throwing a tantrum. Think I'll have to buy new ones. Ones that don't show a different weight everytime I place them somewhere else. Anyone have any suggestions?

But how will I know my real weight if they jump 3 kg (6 lbs?) up & down?

.. and weigh in right after waking with an empty stomach. Weight could fluctuate due to water retention influenced by recent meals, hormones, etc. Instead of solely relying on the scale, keep tabs on your body measurements too.

That's what I usually do. In the mornings. But they change weight up to 6 lbs when relocated. It's really weird. Just wanted to know if your scales do the same and if not, tell me the manufacturer, please.

Maybe invent Ethascales like Etachsketch but you simply write your own number on there!>

Try changing the battery if it is battery operated, many things that are battery powered and designed to measure give weird readings as the battery gets flat

Did you try weighing at the same time everyday? For me that's the first thing I do when I wake up, before even brushing my teeth.

Do you place it on carpet or on rough floor? It really matters, with my scale anyway... The scale may be placed in bathroom on floor tile :) Then the weight will be exact ;)

I keep mine in the same spot and weigh after a shower in the am.
