Happy Meal-Plan Memorial Day!🌞✝🌷

I confess that I'm pretty bad at meal-planning...but at least I'm managing to get the fresh veggies prepped for cooking/snacking (most of the time)

I tried 'pre-prepping' and measuring smoothie ingredients just 1 time in baggies like this. It DID save time when the smoothies were being made, but I think I will weigh/measure/note the calories of the INDIVIDUAL ingredients separately on baggies and then just log the baggies next time😄 I like to add PBFit & Stevia to ours, and I have some tiny snack bags I could premeasure those 2 into together. I could also divvy up the big bag of baby spinach into 1/2 cup portions in their own snack bags for smoothies, egg dishes, salads & whatever. Then the final step would be to have a designated bin in the freezer for smoothie ingredients and just pluck out what sounds good that day! I'd still have to weigh out the milk & yogurt separately, but that's just 2 things instead of EVERYTHING. Baby steps...right?

These graphics didn't actually list the ingredients, and honestly, I'm not sure what's in each container so I thought maybe we could figure it out together 🤷‍♀️🤔

Hope you're enjoying the extra day off! I'm remembering my kith & kin who've served in the military today, with gratitude & love🌷💙🌷

I blend the actual smoothies in big batches, then freeze in individual 2 cup containers. When I am ready to use, I put it in the fridge a few hours before, or on the counter for 30-60 minutes, or in the microwave for 30-60 seconds. The texture is usually not as good as a fresh smoothie, but it's good enough, and saves time, reduces the number of times I need to clean the blender, and I don't have to run the noisy blender when people are sleeping in the morning. It is worth a try to see if you like this method.

Maybe I'm too much of a free spirit to meal plan 😜 I start with an abhorrence of food waste, buy too much produce, and then eat lots of fruits and veggies to use it all up. My meal planning consists of sticking my head in the fridge and assessing what's likely to go bad first. Definitely not the system for everyone! 😉

I am same here too - whatever I see I plan around - when empty refill and start again. I freeze my spinach on a cookie sheet and then bag it up to use as I wish. It works for all things - so I have no veggie or fruit waste - I even slice bananas and freeze them to use a few slices at a time. It works well for me - and I usually only use about a quarter of a cup at a time. GOOD MORNING EVERY ONE - ON FS --- Got your message Crystal and replied.

Really good suggestions! I'll have to try them as I don't plan ahead well either.

I am with @writinwyo! There are only two of us at home and if I have bought a little bag of avocados, I pretty much know what we’re having for the next couple of days for lunch either on toast or salad or whatever else needs eating up🤗

@Maguscanook...I usually buy the bag of the littlest avocados, let them ripen on the counter, then put them in the fridge to make em last days longer. 🥑🥑
