Happy Food for Thought Thursday 🕵️‍♀️🍴🤔

Choices...this journey really boils down to our choices throughout the hour, throughout the day & throughout the week.

Some days, our choices are more limited than others, either by where we are or what's available at the moment. That's why it's best to think ahead, make a plan, and have a back-up plan as well.

The examples below show the situation we can find ourselves in by NOT planning ahead. And ya know what?...occasionally it might even be worth the splurge😋

But if we are trying to make lifelong, healthy changes to our WOE, the sooner we learn to limit the 'splurges'...the BETTER!!

Hi Jay...nice to meet you! Before I joined FS, I had no idea how 'costly' some of my everyday foods/beverages were (calorie-wise). I've enjoyed finding alternatives that are now my NEW everyday foods 😊

I've done WW and I still think counting calories is the bottom line!

One of the things I like about FS is that it really makes me mindful about how different foods stack up nutritionally. Yep, sometimes things are worth the splurge, but not every day!

So true, I am counting calories and carbs. I also started taking health products like a detox tea, cbd coffee and liquid vitamin. They are really helping me shed the pounds!

Senior saint- I’m with you; calorie counting, accurate measuring and documentation is the best for me. Why kid myself? I AM going to eat the odd chocolate, piece of cake and slice of bread. My weight loss HAS to be permanent or high BP will call me on my behaviour!

@Jim & SeniorSaint...Finding my calorie deficit requirement and sticking to it was THEEEE most successful move I've made😁

@cansino...I'm happy to hear that you found the winning combo that works for you! Sometimes it takes a bit of trial and error to find what we can stick with👍

@writingwyo...I have started to pay more attention to the macros in order to keep a balance and to monitor sodium intake. It is a VERY helpful feature here on FS. You're right about the splurges...I try to keep them few and far apart!!😁

@Daughterof...that sounds very much like the plan I've been on for my journey too😊 Trying to keep a BALANCED approach, staying in a calorie deficit, tracking my calories every single day and trying to move as much as possible. This has been doable and sustainable for me. Glad your having success with it too💙🌷

@Maguscanook...EXACTLY!! I factor Hershey's kisses into my calorie budget! NOT a whole package...but 1-3/day and I don't feel a BIT deprived😁 If my healthy way of eating is gonna be sustainable, then personally, I've gotta build in mindfully modest treats along the way. I don't feel guilty about it either!😉💙

Next shopping trip I am buying more fruit as shown in your post above. I need to alternate them with veggies in my opinion. I am getting tired of green veggies. :)
