Happy Wednesday!
Finished up 81 minutes on the exercise bike (20.6 miles) and ate breakfast. Now to check in on my buddies before tackling another wall of stain. Staining log cabin walls is tedious work. The walls are rough and the stain is so liquid, if I'm not very careful I can make a huge mess. The outside walls were much easier because I could use a sprayer but with carpets, furniture, and ceilings I would not trust myself to spray without ruining something.
Yesterday was an interesting food day. I felt like I was making reasonable choices, but at the end of the day I looked over my food log and although my calories were fine, the balance was way off. I usually log my food via my phone app which lets me know fat, carbs, protein, and calories. When I look at the computer version of FS it also tells me sodium...WowZers! My sodium was through the roof yesterday! I don't have high blood pressure so watching my sodium has never been much of an issue, but since I decided to start a healthy lifestyle I decided to change some sodium habits too. I no longer add salt to anything at the table. I buy low sodium products like chicken broth or seasonings. I don't used canned soups or vegetables except tomatoes for chili and I now buy low sodium tomatoes and chili seasoning. I don't buy any frozen meals, only frozen plain vegetables. I almost never buy processed meats or cheese (one of yesterday's culprits). Since I've always made most of our meals from scratch I don't usually have issues with boxed or packaged foods until last night when I used a box mix GoodMan got at Whole Foods for potato pancakes (note to self - just because he bought it at Whole Foods doesn't mean it fits my new lifestyle). Oh well, another lesson learned on the life course of healthy living.
On another topic, I've written and erased a couple of journal logs on the subject of control/rebelliousness issues. I'm not sure how to explain what I'm feeling right now. Not wanting anyone else to control this journey for me, but knowing rebelling against can undermine the goals I have for myself. I plan to spend some time contemplating while I stain the log walls ("Wax on, wax off...Good Grasshopper")...Thanks for listening!
Make your Wednesday wonderful!
